We are thrilled to share that we have received over 1,200 letters of support for AB 1597, the California Notary Fee Modernization Bill.
That is an extraordinary show of engagement, and it reflects the strength and commitment of this community. Thank you to everyone who has registered their support. Thank you to those who have helped with outreach, forwarded emails, posted on social media, and encouraged others to participate. Your efforts are making a difference.
But we’re not finished yet.
Help Us Reach 1,500 Letters by February 28: https://www.calnotaries.org/action-center
Our goal is 1,500 letters before the end-of-month deadline on February 28. This is the final push before materials are prepared for the Assembly Judiciary Committee hearing in March.
Lawmakers take these letters seriously. When California last updated notary fee caps in 2016, it required more than 1,100 individuals writing in support to help move that bill across the finish line. We have already surpassed that benchmark and now we must demonstrate even broader support.

This campaign is not limited to notaries. Anyone who believes in protecting and expanding access to notarial services in California can and should participate.

We are close but close is not enough.
This final stretch is about finishing strong and delivering a clear, powerful message to the Legislature: Californians support modernizing notary laws to protect access to essential services.
Thank you again for standing with us.
Let’s complete this final push together.
In solidarity,
Matt Miller, President
