When LIFE happens

I have my website and Microsoft 365 due soon and I am wondering if I need to renew.

My initial expectations are different from what occurred in this last year. I am primary caregiver to my mom who is bedridden and requires 24 hours care. When notary services have reached out I have not been able to get a sitter before the job is taken or taken down.

Also, times when I could have taken the job, it has required notary to bring a witness which is almost impossible since I need that witness as a sitter.

Of course I am not sure how long this will go on.

My domain is good until 2027. Website and Microsoft 365 are due for renewal in October.

Just want a professional’s opinion. Should I pay for another year or pursue a different route and of the latter, any suggestions?

First I want to say I empathize with you and your family situation. It was long ago that I too was a primary caregiver for my mother. Take everyday in stride. Your website garners business for you but only if you’re marketing yourself as well. The thing about it is even you were to market yourself effectively you could manage having to work around your caregiving and not feel burdened by having to meet the challenges of signing agencies. Don’t put everything on hold rather make adjustments to keep yourself in the stream of work. I became a notary because of it all. I operated a home care agency for over 10 years and the demand became too much for me to balance but my desire to help others didn’t stop I just reevaluated and adapted. I’ll pray for you to develop a sense of direction. And I wish you all the best.

I think you misunderstood the inquiry. But I’m sure they will appreciate your response.

@ptfernanders I, too, can relate to your situation as I also was primary caregiver to my mother with dementia. Thankfully I had backup in my husband.

Are you planning on suspending your work for a bit? If so, then it’s a no-brainer…no, don’t pay to renew for now unless you use it in other aspects of your life.

Also, being a primary caregiver, have you considered going strictly RON? That may solve your whole situation.

Best of luck to you

Hi Linda, thanks for taking time to respond and for your suggestions. RON is not available in South Carolina. I will take all suggestions given and decide from there. I may need to change to just GNW and not signing agent at this time.

Thank again.

Family is crucial when caregiving. Do you have any siblings or other family members who could help you in any way to lift the load off of you?

Hi JennJones, I do need to start reaching out to family more. Honestly, they all work and have their family obligations. My 2 siblings work out of town and returns on Fridays. I have used my husband before but unexpected/ unplanned overtime can become an issue. It hasn’t but it can. I know these all sound like excuses but they are obstacles I have ran into with getting family members.

Also, this is a business I’m trying to build so I can have supplemental income when I stop my PRN nurse job so I feel guilty asking them to come straight from their primary jobs to assist me with my business.

Thanks for taking time to respond.
