My thing is that we are Signing Agents with a Notary Commission ( needed in order to be a SA)
The Signing Services are as new a profession as the Agents( created during the first real estate boom in early 2000’s)
Title,escrow and lenders are all governed and overseen by Dept of Corporations (?).
No one oversees the Signing Services that sub contract the Signing Agent/Notary.
When I go out on a job I am walking people through their loan application ( no notarized documents included), HELOC, Seller and buyer pkg, building inspections etc. I’m contracted as a SA. We need regulations to protect us and our fees.
