BankServ Network not accepting new notary agents

Hi,

I took BankServ’s exam and passed it, which allows me to sign up for their notary network. They only accept new agents on the first day of each month, so I waited for that. After spending over an hour on the signup process, my application was rejected because I am a new signing agent with zero experience.

Can anyone please advise on how to secure my very first signing job?

I have ads on Yelp and Google. I have been getting many requests, but no follow throughs. Please advise on this as well.

Thanks!

Yelp? Don’t get me started. People actually troll for notaries there but Yelp’s lame software program makes it so difficult to follow up on the lead that you’re just wasting your time and money. And if you’re inexperienced forget it, these are general notary calls and you can hurt people.

Have you ever sat at a stranger’s table and told them to sign hundreds of pages of documents that they have never seen? Answered their endless questions while staying focused on delivering a mistake-free package to your hiring party by scanner, so you can be granted permission to drop it off at the closest shipping agent. If that sounds overwhelming maybe it is. That’s why newbies don’t get hired.

Thank you for your input. Yea, I have just stopped Yelp ads. I was getting a lot of leads (direct and indirectly) but none of those follow through and materialized the sale.

Thank you for your input. I recently stopped using Yelp ads. I was receiving a lot of leads, both directly and indirectly, but none of them followed through to materialize a sale.

To address your questions and comments, throughout my professional career, I have dealt with countless people and drafted numerous legal contracts, including MSAs, Statements of Work, NDAs, and others. I have negotiated business terms and conditions face-to-face with strangers. Additionally, I have personally been both a buyer and a seller during multiple home property transactions, signing documents with signing agents. Being a notary/signing agent isn’t that hard, nor can it be harder than my previous job of drafting legal contracts and signing with sellers and buyers.

yes, I have noticed that the past 2 weeks. 3 months back, I was deciding whether to try this business. I searched notary on google map. there were only 15 or less within 25 miles radius. this week, I see over 60 within 25 miles radius. this is crazy!

Try getting in to Notary go They are nicer to newbies

Thank you for the guidance!

Bancserv is the signing service/platform for the Fidelity family of title companies. The approval procedure for Fidelity is stringent.

You’re advertising on Yelp? Please watch Billion Dollar Bully. They will hound you forever and lie about everything. I would definitely not pay them a cent.

I keep getting tons of spam calls to get me to sign up with their paid services. 95% of Yelp leads aren’t effective. The clients sent out mass requests in bulk. waste of time and money.

Don’t sign up for anything that cost money

I have signed up a few paid subscriptions. most of them are cheap. Yelp is very expensive which I have stopped.

@shun, Hey, your comment about notaries not being that hard actually brings up a lot of common misunderstandings people have about getting into this field. I’ve been at this since 2015, and I’m still learning stuff. Finding customers on your own is tough and don’t forget getting repeat consistent business. It’s cool that you have skills from your last job – that’s a real plus! While the fundamental tasks of a Notary/Loan Signing Agent, such as stamping documents, affixing your signature, and verifying an individual’s identification, might seem straightforward, the true intricacies and challenges of this profession reside within the realm of rigorous legal compliance and the multifaceted applications that we, as professionals, are obligated to meticulously adhere to and understand.

No, I think I meant I thought it is a straight forward and easy profession. It actually shouldn’t be this complicated, but the people involved from A to Z for signing making a lot of errors, unclear or wrong instructions, poorly created documents and etc, making it so much harder and confusing, IMO.

Yelp is a waste. To get yourself started sign up with signing agencies. Don’t pay to play.

Yes, it is rather disheartening when a lender or title company, who do this stuff as their business, misspell a borrower’s name throughout the documents. How is that even possible? They’ve been supplied with tons of documents by this borrower with their name on them throughout the entire process.
