My car accident a couple years ago would fall under āfailure to maintain control of a vehicleā(5) and āhazardous or careless drivingā (4) (which was what my ticket said). - I would think careless driving would count for more than 4.
And who made this list up? Wonder what authority ā¦I see whatās at the top but what authority is this based on? Just curious.
What authority? Noneā¦but like so much of this biz, its intent was to ācomplyā to CFPBās āoversight by Lenderā guidelines. Believe they do piggyback (add all points). The Signing Professionals Workgroup was initiated (I think) by Lenders &/or TCs trying to find some way to keep NSAs viable under clear-as-mud CFPB ārulesā, or as they prefer to call them, āguidelinesā. They turned to the NNA for helpā¦or the NNA saw another opportunity to make something mandatory & make more money. I dunnoāwasnāt there. BUT, at the time, anyone could pay to play (become a member) and I know one SS (at least) did. This was back in 2013 or 14 when the CFPB was the current bugaboo.
