They will pay you less than $90 if they can get away with it. I won’t even respond to companies that offer less than $90 for a full refi. The ones who do offer that much have been offering the same amount for at least the last 10 years (my time in this industry). I don’t have to tell you how much OUR costs have gone up in that period of time…starting with auto expenses, equipment costs, toner, paper, and supplies. They just don’t see it or refuse to see it.
Absolutely my friend. We all need to have that attitude however some signing agents don’t see this matter with a reasonable approach. And they are hurting everyone. Good point.

Certainly doesn’t make financial sense as a business owner to Accept Low-Ball Fees.

Concur!
This is the foundational reason I created this Notary Cafe thread to help the novices in this business sector. It guides them to be cognizant of the myriad elements to factor into the equation for calculating Fees.

I had an offer come through less than an hour ago for a refi signing with about 65 miles of driving, plus I’m sure they wanted scan backs. All for $60. Just when you think the signing companies have hit bottom they go even lower. I don’t do sellers packages in my city for that, I sure am not driving 65 plus miles to do a refi.
I don’t think that Sellers’ packages should be discounted the way that they are. There have been some where I’ve spent as much time as I would on a refi. This is especially true when travel time is taken into consideration. If it’s an hour’s drive to a refi, that same location is an hour’s drive for a seller package, too.
I just did a sellers last week that ended up taking 1hr and 20mins. Sometimes things happen, sometimes the client doesn’t have all the information they need and it can definitely take longer than you plan for.
