Signing up with some loan signing companies in southern California. What does everyone typically charge for a full purchase, refinance, reverse mortgage, etc? Thanks!!!

Keep trying keywords … This has been discussed here before. Maybe not specific numbers, but how to determine one’s fee has surely been discussed many many times.

No one can tell you what to charge … much of the fee determination is based on demographics and overall situation, which only you can determine.

Travel fee for notary signing agents

I have the opportunity to contract with an estate law practice to go to their clients that aren’t able to make it to the office to sign. I am in California so legally can only charge $15 per signature. How much should I charge for traveling? Should I do a flat fee or go per mile? Does anyone have experience with this or is there a standard travel rate? Thanks for your help

What percentage of people use notaries at the last minute?

GNW is much more attractive in California. I can charge what I want for travel and our max permitted fee is $15 per signature (not per document). I’ve had a couple of $200 jobs that required no printing, no scanning, no FedExing, and not that many notarizations. I feel sorry for the notaries who have restrictive parameters like Riverpoint Tax in Texas. $6 per signer is awful.

So, now that the fees have been raised to $15.00 a signature in California, do you think we will get paid more for signings? And how much do you charge for a typical package with no fax backs? Do you charge extra for evenings and weekends?
