getting in front of lawmakers to make them aware of the perils we face as notaries if AB199 is resurrected?
Thiseffort is going to take a lot of work, and as notaries, we stand to
lose our livelihoods if RON passes in CA. Never before in my work as a
career notary, have notaries had someone like Matt Miller in our court.
We need to take advantage of the opportunity that lies before us to protect our livelihoods by opposing AB199. Don’t you think it’s glaring that the only lawmaker who was persuaded to endorse AB199 has resigned and therefore no longer supporting this proposed legislation in CA?
This appeal is not made to just CA notaries. As one of the largest numbers
of notaries in the US, CA can make a difference if we are successful in getting lawmakers to protect our livelihood by opposing RON. It could set the stage for other states to overturn RON where it passed because not enough was known about the pitfalls of this new technology that puts people’s NPPI at serious financial jeopardy.
Matt needs our help. If all CA notaries gave just $1 dollar today, it would help to fund Matt’s crusade in the coming months. There is a lot of work to do.
