Hey guys, quick newbie question. I am doing a seller’s package in the morning. I am located in Texas and the sale is taking place in Cali. On the documents all of the acknowledgements and notarial seals say State of California… County of ________. Should I line through and initial the “California” and write in Texas since I am notarizing and commissioned in Texas? I texted the title company to make sure that they would accept a line through and ask what they wanted but haven’t heard back.
Yes. The venue is wherever you are.

In Texas you can line through and correct the error. Be sure to initial your correction. Keep in mind California certificates have exact wording. For California I usually “X” out the CA certificate and attach a loose Texas certificate.
You can get Texas Certificates at: https://www.sos.state.tx.us/statdoc/forms/edinfo-sample-forms-9-19.pdf

Thank you for the link! I think I will just do that next time. I didn’t like the feeling of sending in a package with multiple line throughs.
