Fax app for faxback

Hi,

I am a new NSA. I thought the request for faxbacks was antiquated and the class not updated. Why not scan & email directly to the contracting companies copy machine?
I have not had a landline for over 10 years. I just got my first assignment and it requires a faxback not a scanback. Can anyone please recommend a free secure iPhone fax app? Thank you.

Check with your hiring party and see if they’ll take a scanback - almost nobody takes faxes any more; not to mention how long and cumbersome it would be to fax multiple pages with your phone…insecure too.

Invest in a good scanner and, if they insist on faxbacks only - tell them they’ll need to pay for the cost of faxing offsite.

Thank you LindaH. Done. Waiting for them to get back to me. I have a scanning legal-sized scanning printer and a pdf app. I really thought the fax requirement was a non-update to the book.

What I am learning is not every service is as technically capable as they claim to be. Just getting my first assignment to be accepted was a learning curve experience of portal from portal.

Usually when they mean faxback is really “scanbak”. Still check with the signing service or TC, I’m pretty sure they’ll tell you scan and email.
Fax are almost obsolete :unamused:

Thank you. I have messaged them.

I am new also, I thought email was not secure. If they are accepting email, is there a particular email preferred? Such as yahoo, outlook, gmail?

Honestly, faxbacks are annoying but still super common in that field… I’ve used iPhone fax apps in a pinch, just double-check the quality before sending or they’ll reject it.

Faxback is just the term they continue to use scans are probably fine in that situation. Emailing documents does not provide security, many services will take you off their list if you email documents. I have an Adobe subscription so the Adobe Scan program is free. I scanned from FedEx yesterday for two package and it felt great coming home with no packages to ship. Adobe scan also has a size limit so you have to compress files and watch page counts but in a pinch I like it fine. I’m not going to haul around my laptop and all the hardware required for a mobile scanner that’s just my personal preference.

Email doesn’t provide document security I would avoid that.

It’s not secure. Some companies will not use notaries who email documents.
