Finest Mobile Notary

John, I understand how ads work. Why would a notary who is NOT located in my state want to appear as a LOCAL NOTARY to those who are searching for an actual local notary like me?

I hate them too but don’t all signing services overcharge? I hate that the public doesn’t even know what a signing service is.

I did a signing for them on 3/18. Was not told that the person requesting the signing needed the original mailed back to them. $10 out of my pocket but ok, it was a quick signing close to my house. Come to find out that the “document” that was signed was from FNS and not what the client needed. I contacted FNS and didn’t receive a response. This was time critical so I had the client email me the form and went back out for a second time, letting FNS know that I was and requested a second trip fee. I did not ask for the $20 I paid to mail the signed documents to the client. Again no response. I did receive a check from them quickly but it was only for the initial trip. I emailed them once again to let them know of my disappointment with their lack of communication about this matter and that I will not do anymore signings for them.

Carmen, they all do that. They find notaries out of their area of service so they can expand their area of service. There are some companies on the West Side of Washington that do this and I’ll work for them any time they want because they pay fast. I think probably because they treat notaries the way they want to be treated.

At first. I tend to think most signing services started out the same way. Some are better at recruiting, retaining and vetting than others. The ones who are good at it become huge like snapdocs. The smaller ones like Unlimited Ink get big enough they then rely on a platform like signingdocs because they need a bigger stable.

That’s how it seems anyway.

I have completed three jobs for them. Two were paid promptly, the 3rd is just shy of 60 days past due. Here’s the information I could locate:

Finest Mobile Notary
If this is the same company you are talking about, they are horrible. They asked me to do a job with an expired I.D. and a medical card. They told the Client that this is acceptable for me and lied to the customer even when I told them no, we needed two credible witnesses. The Client was very upset, when I got there. They would not give her back her money back or pay me for my time. I told the customer we would need two credible witnesses when I confirmed it with her. She did not have them, and they never told her she needed that. It’s a much longer story but they are very bad and make us look bad too. Stay away from Finest Mobile Notary AKA Finest Notary Services

You think you are “getting them” by clicking on their ad multiple times, but Google knows your IP address, and they will not charge us more than once. “Us” means the larger national companies AND the small mom-and-pops just trying to build a business. So, instead of being vindictive, how about concentrating on building YOUR business? Be positive and let the good times roll! Peace out!

I have done a few signings for them but not all of them were good experiences. I don’t like that they charge the signer an inflated charge.

WHY is it that signing services don’t have to abide by state notary laws but we individual notaries do? I never understood that.

I also can’t stand that when they text me about a signing, they always say, I found your name on a database. It’s so impersonal. If I’ve done work for them in the past, shouldn’t they know that?

I also hate that most signing services have NO personal contact. We have no idea who we’re dealing with. Wouldn’t it be amazing if they introduced themselves or invited you to some sort of orientation?

I think I just talked myself out of responding to signing services. I really don’t think they should be legal because if they’re out of state, they usually have no idea what our own state statutes say, or they just refuse to listen.

I will not work with them any more after many bad experiences. Yes, they pay quickly but the rates they charge the signer for general notary work is insane and I don’t want to be a part of it any more. I have ethical pricing and am too embarrassed to be associated with them. And no, I never stamp their silly form. I have no idea why they think they can ask for it.

Just yesterday a signer near me called me to notarize a single document. It’s about 8 miles away, and I quoted her a total fee of $50. Her reply was, “That’s it?” Apparently, she had already booked with Finest Mobile Notary because within minutes I got a text from FINEST asking me to do the very same job. They had already charged the customer $175. The signer was comparing rates after the fact when she called me. I actually thought we had booked the appt until she called me and said they wouldn’t let her cancel, even though it was 24 hrs away. For that reason, I wouldn’t work for FINEST again. How is this considered abiding by the state laws for notaries? Are they all outside the law? Doesn’t it apply to them?

@joe Thank You :folded_hands: for sharing your direct experience with this business entity.

Concur :100: percent :tada: with your business decision to “Avoid them at all costs.”

It certainly appears that a very negative reputation is being developed by that business entity within this industry.

======

Please Remember to honor yourself by learning vicariously from the direct experience of others.

Your fellow Business Owners have submitted & shared their direct experiences in a sincere effort to help others avoid the pitfall in which they were (unfortunately) ensnared . . .

Remember that the Non-Paying business entities will “tell a tale” that is not only convincing, but also believable as they seek out their next victim.

Don’t take the bait!

If you do - the status for that Signing Order [SO] will soon fall within the Category of Non-Payment.

The end result is that the business continues to operate & it will then ensnare other business owners who are (sadly) unsuspecting/too-trusting/desperate to receive a SO.

Another way to keep shoppers, theft of services, and signing agents acting as a third party away is to make the new customer/company pay upfront. I have gained a lot of new “good” business using that policy. For those customers or companies that push back due to my request, that’s okay. I don’t like having to chase customers to get paid.

How do you handle it when FMN tells you it is just 1 document that needs notarization and they pre-pay that amount, then you arrive and discover it is 4 or more notarizations that need to be performed?

That happens to me every time with them! They lie about everything! I do tell them and they ignore it. They are bottom feeders. I’m going to email them and tell them to take me off their list. After four years doing this, I’ve finally had it. I won’t do real estate signings unless they come directly from the title company.

Why not post a review on their Google Business Profile and on Yelp? That should do it.

I just sent them an email stating that their customer was disgusted and I’m not working for them any more. I’d love to find their Google profile to post a review.

I did four jobs for them and was paid without delay. They have a form you need to return, but if you do so, they pay via Deluxe on-line check.

I’ve worked with Finest Mobile notary several times now. (I’m in North Carolina…) I’ve had no issues with payment. Payment is usually made within three days. They do require you to submit the completion form in order to be paid. The only issue that I had with this is that it asks for my commission number which I did not provide nor did I place my stamp in the area as requested. There was a bit of back and forth but after I explained why I would not provide my number or place my stamp, and then referred them to my state’s general statutes, I had no issues with how I submit the reports. Also, the client has always had the documents and retained them after the service.
I do think this is disservice to the customers that reach out to them. If Finest pays me $50 for a car title, I imagine that the customer pays them at least $100 to call me out. When I asked the client how did they connect with Finest, they said they googled ‘notary’ and the finest popped up. Had the client called me directly, it would have only cost $25 (including travel). Just means to me that there is DEFINITLY a need for marketing my services in the area.

That’s very interesting. I received a job offer from them today. I asked them for their mailing address so I could send them an invoice. They gave me an address that had a tall building with many businesses in it. I asked them what their suite number was and they said they didn’t have one. Clearly, they gave me a bogus address, so I declined the job. What you just posted confirms it wasn’t their true address.

@cite.llc.pa Thank You :tada: for sharing your direct experience.

This data will be beneficial to nearly all Notary Cafe members.

People who hire us require a copy of our commission to confirm we’re notaries how is providing your commission number an issue? An inquiry on a state site will reveal your commission number. Don’t understand that.
