Finest Mobile Notary

Interesting. Was it a Florida address? I think I once saw their Google Business Profile with a Miami address.

Isn’t one’s commission number present on the notary stamp? What good is the stamp without a [registration] number on it? :face_with_monocle:

I don’t understand the question. If a package requires notary information such as commission number I give it. The purpose of a signing service getting a commission number from a notary is so they can easily confirm a notary is currently commissioned. You don’t stamp the notary verification form. But there’s no reason to not provide a commission number when asked for it.

When you look at the closing disclosure, Notary Fee is always an item so you can see what they get paid vs your fee. I get they’re entitled to something but we’re doing the heavy lifting.

IN Maryland we don’t have a commission number. Weird

Back to the original topic. Do not accept assignments from Finest Mobile Notary. I’m +60 days on a POA for which I drove 30 mins each way. 3 emails requesting payment status and no answer.

Let Title Co. know–often results in payment

Respectfully I disagree. There is a gigantic amount of things we are not involved in that has to happen for a loan to fund. We don’t have any idea what the total notary requirement is on any deal. Grabbing a closing disclosure and finding the notary fee line to complain about how little we get paid seems to be a thing among notaries these days. It’s counter productive. This forum I thought was about learning things you didn’t know, getting advice from people more veteran than we are, sharing experiences. Seems like the purpose has become complaining about almost everything. Because that’s all everyone seems to do.

It was only a durable POA. They reached out to me via phone. They agreed to the price I quoted and said payment was net 30. I agreed. I will accept no further assignments from them.

I have been trying to collect on a past due balance from Finest Notary since February of 2025. As they ask you to meet their clients to acknowledge a document, there is no one else to contact for payment. I have sent Invoices and letters. They send more solicitations by text, and I respond that I am still awaiting payment for a previous assignment, but receive no acknowledgment or response.

@Sooz Sorry to read about your Non-Payment with this business entity.

Texas Notary here and wanted to give my experience, I received a text and call regarding GNW and completed it about a week ago, I sent them the confirmation sheet, but did not include any of the signers information or a copy of my notary stamp, i simply put my commission number and informed them that they can look me up in the Texas SOS Notary Log for Commission confirmation. the dangerous part of their completion form is that they can digitize our stamp and signature and use it (not saying they are, but its a risk). I also put on there that i do not provide the sensitive information of signers for security purposes. Since then tried to get in contact with them regarding the Paypal invoice I sent. I did not receive responses to my emails, calls or my invoice reminders, that is until today when i was contacted regarding GNW, they sent a E-check which is fine, but it took them having to ask me for a service to get the payment.

As for doing work for them in the future, I am a one man show with some assistance from other notary friends and family, so the information they ask for already raises red flags. I think i will pass on future requests and do something to raise awareness in my area regarding notary fees.

@chavez.jesse29 :tada: Thank You :tada: for sharing your direct experience. :sparkler:

Congratulations! Sounds as if you ‘dodged the bullet’ on this one . . .

I just received a text from Finest (Arianne, is the name on Iphone) but she said a different name. She asked if I could do a beneficiary change on insurance forms, I told her yes, then she asked to call me. When she called, she turned on call recording and proceeded to tell me that the notary had to be a female (she said “girl”) and that I must wear a skirt or a dress. I cordially declined. Most reputable companies that take signings from people would’ve nipped that right in the bud during the initial phone call with the requester…but not these people. They may pay within a couple of days, but pay isn’t everything. A company that stands with their notaries is far more ethical and valuable.

Worked with “Finest Notary Services”, received my payment timely

I tell them that if accepted and there are more than initially indicated, then it is due and payable at the table. Whether that comes from FNM or the actual signer is up to them. Needless to say, I don’t get any jobs from them.

It certainly appears that a very negative reputation is being developed by this business entity.

Please Remember to honor yourself by learning vicariously from the direct experience of others.

Your fellow Business Owners have submitted & shared their direct experiences in a sincere effort to help others avoid the pitfall in which they were (unfortunately) ensnared . . .

Remember that the Non-Paying business entities will “tell a tale” that is not only convincing, but also believable as they seek out their next victim.

Don’t take the bait!

If you do - the status for that Signing Order [SO] will soon fall within the Category of Non-Payment.

The end result is that the business continues to operate & it will then ensnare other business owners who are (sadly) unsuspecting/too-trusting/desperate to receive a SO.

I have and they are reasonable

The notary gets paid by whomever hired them. In this case, the signers already paid FMN in full and FMN subcontracts to the local notary to actually do the work, so collecting more money from the signer would be inappropriate/unlawful. If it ends up being more work for the notary (if they tell notary it is only 1 notarization when they are hired and when notary arrives they see there are 20 notarizations to perform) then notary would contact the hiring company (FMN or whoever) to advise and increase their notary fee.

That said, I get it. Not worth the effort sometimes.

@obxms :white_check_mark: Absolutely! :white_check_mark:

Thank goodness someone said that. I was shocked when I read that was a solution for someone. Signers don’t pay us when we are contracted. That’s so inappropriate.
