It has been almost 60 degrees in Eastern Washinton Yakima / Columbia River area. High hot winds and fast run off from mountains with a lot of snow already means rivers are rising and flood alerts are in place.
The Yakima River is not expected to crest until this weekend. The Columbia near Tri Cities shoulld crest about the same time.
I don’t think out of state lenders are up on what that means. But 60 degrees is WAY too warm right now. And there’s no cold weather expected before Tuesday.
Be aware of the region if you travel out of your county. Some areas are having to go far for a notary because local resources might just be staying home. So be careful out there.
Western Washington is seeing some of the worst flooding in a decade. Summer fires destroying vegetation has made mud slides worse. Agree weather is too warm for this time of the year. Our world is changing. Be safe out there.
I countered a high fee for a signing in Stevens County yesterday because I was sure they wouldn’t pay it because honestly WAY TOO FAR.
Then they paid it. So that was way too much driving yesterday and I had to go down by the Columbia today and she is ROLLING.
After the 4:15 I have - I’m calling it a day. Just too tired. Lots of notaries seem to be staying home right now. I’m getting some crazy location requests. But I drove too many miles yesterday.
A bad named SS company that I have no issues working for pushed out a job for their regular based fee when the weather was bad and I remembered your previous post about winter coming early I bid double on the post and got it. In the comment on the bid I put “the weather is terrible”
I bid a ridiculously long drive yesterday at a rate I was sure they’d never pay.
Then I got the order. But it was brutal. I earned every penny. This flooding has people just staying home looks like.
Had an offer for Leavenworth and said - there are mudslides closing roads up there. No can do. No amount of money will get me to some locations right now. There are some areas those folks are going to have to come to dry land.
I’ve heard about your weather and flooding up there on our local channels down here in FL - I pray for you all and please stay safe…the $$$ isn’t worth that kind of risk
There is an effort to get a Notary to Leavenworth right now and there is no way anyone should try to go to Leavenworth today. I actually emailed the woman at the title company that I know and I said you shouldn’t try to get someone to Leavenworth if they could get killed up there.
@johnsonps306@johnsonps306, I am sending my heartfelt prayers and best wishes to everyone in Eastern Washington State, hoping they remain safe and free from harm during this challenging weather situation. As a fellow mobile loan signing agent, I understand the unique set of risks and weather-related hazards that come with our profession, particularly during this time of the year when unpredictable conditions can make travel and work extremely difficult and potentially dangerous. Everyone be safe!
Leavenworth is under water and they keep sending an appointment request. I feel like telling them to check a satellite image of the property which could be a total loss.
Did you hear about the power outage in Leavenworth? Annual tree lighting ceremony on hold. Tourists shopped in their local stores with flash lights and paid for items on their cell phones or cash. Keeping the seaon alive.
