Omak Washington - whoa

Omak is almost to the Canada border. I’m not sure what company keeps offering mobile notary services in this area, but promising a mobile notary and getting a mobile notary are two different things. I countered with the highest fee I ever charge. I’ve been paid that fee once to go to that county but it makes me wonder if anyone outside of the Pacific Northwest knows ANYTHING about Eastern Washington. It’s not the miles - it’s the hours in your car.

I wonder if they’ll find someone to go to Omak. Not for a hundred bucks they won’t.

I am convinced that neither Title companines nor signing services have any clue about the areas they send signings out to. Living in extreme North Eastern Tennessee everything is either up or down the mountain. I have areas I service that are 50 or 60 miles from me, but it is a remote mountainous area that takes longer to get to and back from. Services want you to do a sellers for $75 or a Refi for $85 in those areas. That isn’t really feasible across the street from me let alone driving hours to sign. I had a service call me a week ago this past Friday for a refi at 11:00 am the next day in Mountain City, TN for $120. The problem, beside the fee, was that we were in the middle of a winter storm and Mountain City received around a foot of snow, yet he still wanted me to accept the signing.

Oh, winter driving in Tennessee what an adventure. First winter I lived in Tennessee a snow storm came and dropped a lot of snow in a short period on Nashville and people on the Interstate just got out of their cars and walked away. I couldn’t believe it.

It can be challenging for sure. There are still parts of Nashville that are without power from the Ice Storm they received a couple of weeks ago. I live up above the city, about 300 feet. I have a hard rule that I don’t go up or down the mountain in the snow. Getting down is one thing getting back up is another. This past storm I let several signings go, becasue it simply wasn’t worth the risk.

@johnsonps306 @takenotenotaryservices Both of your comments regarding long-distance driving and the adversities that weather presents to mobile notaries perfectly encapsulate the realities we embrace when choosing this profession. Google Maps and MapQuest simply don’t account for the numerous variables and unpredictable elements we encounter while navigating roads, highways, and streets. This is why it’s crucial to price our services accordingly. In fact, this is a significant reason I am now concentrating my efforts on developing my Remote Online Notarization (RON) business and other online businesses. I have spent more years working outside services compared to inside an office. The freedom and scenery that mobile service offers are what I truly used to cherish.

But it’s only two counties west of your office. Do you know how big Texas is? That two counties over is 125 miles lone way.

Here’s the great thing I don’t need to know how big Texas is.

They have no idea how far away even Kaufman County is from Dallas County.

I can’t even imagine the job in Texas. Texas is driving forever to get anywhere same as Eastern Washington.
