Signing.service fees

Does anyone know what sugning servicex charge their clients for notary work. I was asked by a local law office to do all their remote notary work. The issue is receiving the documents. They want me to pick up documents in their office 20 miles away. Then complete the signing and return the documents the same day

Last week the asked if i could do a signing which is an hour from my home in the opposite direction of the attorneys office. The time involved would be driving half an hour to the attorneys office then driving an hour and a half to do the signing then do the signing and drive another hour and a half to return the documents to the attorneys office then driving half an hour home.

Previousy we had discussed fees and i felt like this was as good a time as any to reflect upon that conversation. My thinking was $250.00 for any signing anywhere in the region regardless of location and regardless of document size.

I think they were looking for something cheaper. But based upon their requirements i felt like i would be taking up the better part of a day

For some reason they are ok with sending files to a signing service by email but they dont want to email documents to.me. i dont get it. In retrospect im now thinking that $250.00 was too cheap

Just curious. Ask them what type of printer and what type of paper they need in order for them to send to you by email and tell them you are willing to accomadate. So if you have what they need then email, please. Just a suggestion.

It sorta sounds to me like the companies that want a flat rate/county. Any given job could be across the street OR as far away as you can go & still be in your county. Most are going to be somewhere between. The only way I figured I could do per county fee was to use the minimum acceptable amount for as far away as was possible and call that my Flat Rate. That did work out better for me than them.

In your example, you have a FIXED Time/Auto expense for pickup/dropoff. Add average sign-time AND minimum acceptable time/gas expense for as far away as you can be & still be in ‘their local area’. FWIW: I do know of a person who had that Flat Rate deal with a local TC…and she was getting $250 FIFTEEN years ago.

I appreciate the feedback. Im commussioned in tennessee and virginia serving 5 counties in each state. Pretty big area but i can pick and choose what i want and where im willing to go

Best wishes

wow 5 counties in each state?! Sounds like you need an airplane :flight_arrival:
