It seems like it, I’m getting requests to go to places I normally don’t go at fees I never see. Maybe everyone is taking the last long weekend of the summer except for a few. What’s it like where you are?

It has been slow in East TN, for the past several weeks. There has been a couple of jobs this morning that had to be done in the next 2 hours but I refused those. One was over 100 miles and 2.5 hours of driving for $95. I have only had 3 or 4 jobs in the last week.

I’ve had many requests, but the rate is still much lower than I prefer, so I pass.

Requests for work are there but taking 10 days off to meet up with my east coast part of family Emerald Isle NC. Water and sand cleanse our souls.

Well, there are good things and bad things about living in a place where people dream about vacationing to. The good? Living here is like living in heaven. The bad? Not wanting to go anywhere else.
As with every holiday, I booked several good-paying meetings this weekend with vacationers happy they can travel and still sign legal papers.

I had to go to a resort in the mountains yesterday which I charged a ton for because it was going to be my only job with all the driving. Then there was a wreck on the main highway in and out that closed the highway for a period of time so I had to hustle to a FedEx where I was able to ship the package from the day before and then I had to stop and do a mobile scan at the UPS store where I could make same day shipping but it was close the UPS driver gave me time to finish so he could take that package. A commercial loan that was not easy.
Damn we know how to have fun, don’t we Joe? I have a quick appointment today and I believe I’m going to take the rest of the weekend.

Worked yesterday and today! It’s not always worth it, working weekends/holidays. When things go wrong, it’s a pain getting help from these title companies/lenders. Today, I had a RON assignment, and Nexsys ClearSign’s platform completely crapped out. Called 3 numbers, put on hold for over 45 min, and the signers called their contact who was out. They asked if we should cancel and try Tuesday. I just reflected the question back, and they said to cancel. What should’ve taken 15-30 min ended up being an hour of everyone’s time, and nothing done. That’s the risk, ya know?

one “last minute” notification received today I didn’t see it until late in the day and just responded at 11:20 ish tonight, its about an hour and a half away in “Arkansas drive time” . I doubt they’ll accept my counter offer but you never know, and one notification for signing on Friday the pay is decent but I don’t want to make the drive for it as I think the time doesn’t suit me with my current home renovations running concurrent right now, my next signing is Tuesday, here in Arkansas .

I don’t normally work on Friday and Saturday.
Super slow in August for me in Indiana. I actually have my last calendared appointment tonight at 6pm. What the crap is going on? I’ve had booked schedules for the last 4 month. Never had an empty calendar. Lowball fees rolling into. The areas I travel to are offbeat anyway so - same locations just lower fees. Boo
There has been so much work here in Central Illinois that Im wondering if the lower interest rates are the reason behind it. The rates are very reasonable. This has been the highest number of loans in August since 2021.
It’s been somewhat quite in Louisiana but like most I’m not accepting orders at low rates or even countering because history has proven someone will do it for less. Loan mods were my primary source due to a relationship I had established but that has dried up with some refi and seller pkgs. This just frees me up to start getting use to the semi-retirement status that I thought I was doing when I went full time with my notary business as a part time business. Love this forum and all the positive feed back.
My end of month was actually a little quiet. Now I shockingly had 3 appointments Tuesday. Thats almost unheard of where I live for the first business day of the month. Im lucky to ever get two in the same day because of how rural the area is. Give me 3 on the first busines day of the month, WOW! Crickets again though.
