Is this a creative Phisher or a real person?

Does anyone out there know a Linda Akers from Howard Hanna Real Estate? Got an email out of the blue, supposedly with docs attached, referencing an ridiculously high fee, telling me to log in to Drop Box with my SnapDocs credentials.

So many sirens are going off in my head…

Never heard of her. It could be a scam to get your sign in details. I had one come via text a few days ago identifying themselves as security people from my bank. It even had my banks logo. They claimed I might have had a security breach and needed me to sign in to my account. Needless to say, I did not comply with their request. It’s really getting worse with the scammers.

Whatever you do, do NOT sign in to their drop box with your snapdocs credentials. Snapdocs has a statement on their website that other (fake) companies are trying to steal info through those drop boxes. That is a scam!!

I received an email from her as well, the price they were paying was 3 times what I normally receive plus the dollar amount was an odd number. Felt it was a scam and deleted the email.

I recently received an email from a different person at that Hanna real estate office. I did not click on the link as I suspected a scam. I wrote to Snap Docs who said it was probably a scam. I googled the realtor and found her website. I sent her an email but she did not respond. The fee offered was a dead giveaway.

Wonder if Hanna Real Estate knows their name is being used in a phishing scam?

I received an email today from Mary Cuevas of Regency Escrow in Mission Viejo CA - I’ve previously received an email from this Mary Cuevas asking for my help with the documents to buy their first home containing a dropbox link which I (foolishly) clicked on- two days later I got a google alert that someone tried to log into my google account but were blocked.

This email today she was trying to schedule a reverse mortgage signing for Wednesday. The signature looked odd to me - like it had been copied and pasted - and there was no phone number like a title company or escrow company would provide. So I called the escrow company shortly after they opened and asked about her - Mike, who answered the phone, told me she is not affiliated with Regency Escrow and he’d received another call from another notary today asking the same thing.

These emails have been reported by many other notaries too - and oddly, they always say “found your info on 123Notary”

I sent them an email to give them a heads up but they never responded.
