If you happen to be at the closing table with a signer, a question arises
, you call the phone number provided and can’t get through…
press zero and see what happens next…you’re welcome
I only recently learned the secret…
@jennjoneis , you made me smile thank you I needed that…
I’m glad it made you smile. I was just so shocked when I tried it and it worked!!
I tried that too but didn’t get anywhere; left a voicemail which did no good. I called other “if you have any questions, call this #”. I did that too and did no good. I got a little frustrated. It was very close to closing time at the FedEx–guess what-I drop shipped anyways. I won’t be working with them again.
I’m so sorry to hear that. It is so frustrating when no one can be contacted.
Sometimes I can get title to give me a cell number if it’s going to be a later signing but not usually…
Yes, I love it when the instructions say, “If there is a problem, call this number” and words to the effect that if you leave the signing table without calling first for instructions you will be dinged on your fee. Yeah right…just try getting someone on the phone after hours or on weekends.
Yes, all of them have left the building
Many of them work from home anyway…they just don’t pick up after 5pm
I won’t take a signing when it’s close to closing time for this very reason. If something goes south they blame you.
Living and working in Hawaii, with most orders coming from the mainland, there is usually a significant time difference. Trying to reach someone during a signing, with a time difference of six hours, is virtually impossible. There is rarely someone to help on the “help” line, especially if I have a late afternoon appointment. But yet, they will hold the notary responsible for getting everything “correct” on the documents. It can be a nightmare at times.
That trick is older then you. Lolol
Yes and we, notaries do not know what signer questions will arise during the signing
I guess I’m the new kid on the block;)
Good information for new notaries. However, try not to accept appointments after hours, especially if you have to FED X or UPS the documents within an hour or two. Like they said, they work from home, and turn off the phone after 5pm.
Thanks for the information
