Hello my name is Rebecca Magarino, and I have been a notary, for several years now. However, I would like to acquire much more experience doing normal notary jobs and would like to do loan signings on the weekends, but I only get the loan signings offers during the day when I am at my regular full-time job. Can someone please give me suggestions and guidance.
If your signed up on Notary Dash, Signing Order and other platforms that offer assignments, you should be getting some weekend work offers. Be sure your profile page includes weekends for your schedule including Notary Cafe and other platforms you have your services listed on.
Yes, that could be the issue. I am only on one platform.
Thank you.
You are very welcome.
This is a business where availably is key. Do you have access to your phone during your day job? If no then you won’t get a lot of signings , if yes reply yes to the signings you have availability for . You won’t be assigned to as many signings as those with FT availability , thats just going to be your reality. With all that being said make sure you’re signed up with as many signing platforms as possible as to increase your exposure and notifications. Try to respond to the notification as quickly as possible but don’t take a job to take a job… What I mean by that is don’t accept a signing with the pay of $50 and the drive is 2 hours away each way , take ones that you will make money on .
@newlife32171, Yeah, weekend signings are possible. But if you can’t see the alerts at work, your chances go down unless there aren’t a ton of other signing agents in your area. Your success really just comes down to how well you market yourself.
Hi Rebecca and welcome to the community!
This is a prime opportunity for you to market yourself to take on work others might not want to. I’m not sure if you have GBP or Yelp, but you could mark your availability for evenings and weekends. You’ll also want to define the scope of work you want to focus on.
Is it only GNW?
Real Estate Transactions?
Do you only want to work with signing platforms?
Or do you want to gain direct business?
Lots of options for you depending on what your goals are.
While it limits the potential signings you can do, it’s definitely viable to only do weekend.
Only thing I suggest is that if you see some available appointments during the week on certain platforms, it’s better to mark yourself as unavailable then to just outright ignore them.
I don’t think they even look at your profile page when sending out orders. It’s the splash-and-dash method. They blast it out there, and whoever takes it first at the fee they’re offering gets the job.
agree with you , responding not available is better than not responding at all
You can go crazy trying to respond as “not available” to dozens of offers that may come in during the day. Assuming that you have anything else to do with your time, it can be very draining and counterproductive to do that, for no tangible benefit.
