Missed date

I sadly missed a date on a Mortgage document and it was also missed by a reviewer on ServiceLink and I was approved to drop for shipping.

A day later, I got an email telling me that I needed to fix this error. I was horrified on two fronts–that I missed that date and that I was told it was good to ship and it was shipped.

I have replied, asking what to do now as it was shipped. No answer.

What would you do/

Tell them to send the page with the missing date. Fix it and send it back to them.

easy enough to do. Thank you!

@andrea.islandnotary where are you located and where was the date omitted? In the document itself or in your certificate? It may not easy as just “fixing” it

That’s how I would do it, also. Was it your own date or the signer?

It was actually on the Mortgage, it was cleverly hidden and it was on the Signer’s line, again-cleverly hidden.

I don’t even know what cleverly hidden means. It either indicates date or doesn’t on the signature line. Unless it was in the early part of the mortgage where you have to fill out day of what month and year. Scanning documents at print - scan for empty spaces.

Hope it gets fixed easily. I’ve always wondered why they don’t use the Errors and Omissions / Compliance Agreement and just fill it in with that permission.

Seems early on though they want notaries to fix their errors. Which for myself anyway I rarely miss that item a 2nd time.

If it was to be affixed next to the signers’ signature, I would not just “fix it”. I think you need to go back -if you’re in FL @andrea.islandnotary , as I suspect you are…law states no changes to the documents after they leave the Notary hands. Return trip will be on your dime and you’ll need the entire document returned to you to present to signers.
