Mortgage Connect Signings

I wish :joy_cat: but like we don’t have to do all this for JOT as an example

I am on about 13 platforms. If they were all JOT I’d be so happy.

It doesn’t take that long. I am on every free platform I can find.

I’m confused. What or who is JOT?

Amazing platform. Volume is lower than Signing Order in my area, but they pay out every week.

Jot is the First American Title platform.

That’s interesting. I’ve never heard of it until now. I’m going to sign up there and see what happens.

I don’t do work for them anymore myself. Website is terrible for scan backs. They approve your scan backs then come back with defects months later and grade you. I get calls from them just about everyday. Like most here, I’m NOT going to work for peanuts. If we all stand our ground then maybe the standard fee will improve. I never accept the first offer but would counter. When they keep sending the same request after I’ve countered I delete the request when they come in.

My last order paid $150. The scanback has to be under 25mp or broken into parts.

Once you get experienced with their website it’s smooth sailing.

People complain about their fees offers. It’s pretty simple you counter offer or you reject the offer.

I like any service that pays fast. And the grades don’t matter. You can be graded F and get lots of orders. I have asked them several times why we do not get called as errors are discovered. I think they are short staffed. Every month the grade changes to reflect the previous month. I don’t pay any attention anymore.

That is good to know. Thank you for responding with this info.

Don’t take their orders then.

I’ve been signed in for them for over 10 years. They never threaten anybody. They just want their scan backs, usually within two hours. It’s not a big deal if you’re later. The only difference between them and other companies is you have to submit an invoice on their website. It’s very simple.

I’ve counter offered Mortgage Connect dozens of times and they’ve never accepted even one of them. My counters aren’t outrageous either. They’re never more than double their offer and usually more in the 50% higher range. I think it has to do with geographical area and the number of signing agents they have to choose from.

Steve, I feel it’s exactly that. It’s harvest season here in full swing for apples and that means the rural highways are full of produce trucks. Drive times go longer and it’s more hazardous, so the distance orders I get I feel like maybe notaries are either priced higher than me or they just aren’t doing the drives. I go to several counties that would be called under served. But lots of the notaries in my area simply will not do those drives. So I get the distance orders quite a bit.

And the local orders I have to drop my fee to get. I don’t do that very often. But if I have driven a lot of miles in a week I might drop my fee a little bit to drive less.

I do a LOT of signings for Mortgage Connect. I never accept their initial lowball offers, but counter and quite often get the job. It usually even takes more than one counter-offer, becaue they have their process they go through, but I reallly like working for them. The paperwork is always timely, the people are always friendly on the phone, I find their invoicing to be quite easy, and I enjoy working for them and appreciate their business!

Do you find that Mortgage Connect sends you offers that are in cities well outside your geographic region? I get many, many offers that are way too far away for me to be profitable. As those jobs come in on my phone, I’m constantly interrupted (alert sounds) with jobs I’ll never take. Most annoying. Maybe 1 in 10 is in my area and it’s too small a fee to accept. Like 170 pages (times 2, of course) for $55, 70 miles roundtrip. I’m just wondering if you have the same experience.

I have exactly the same experience, and I really wonder who takes those jobs at that fee. I have been tempted many times just to drop Mortgage Connect and silence them forever. The constant pinging on my phone with their lowball offers can get really annoying. The offers that I’ve tried countering have gotten crickets.

I cover 6 counties. I do extensive driving. I charge what I charge based on what I pay for gas and the time I spend and I know what I can charge and get paid. My philosophy is probably different than lots of people.

But it’s almost winter here, and fees go up a lot in the winter. Once it snows many notaries cut their limited availability down to nothing. So I will get paid more over a 3-month period for other counties.

In the Spring is when I reduce fees again after winter, but they don’t drop to what they were last year - I’ll be a little higher.

My approach has been to take a gradual approach to the big fees we all think we should just get no matter what because no one starts a job at the top tier executive pay scale. It’s not realistic to believe we should. I go up a little bit every year. I’ve been doing okay gradually raising my fees. And I don’t lose money and maybe even make a little. So I guess it’s working out.

Love them. pay well. And fast.. Never a problem

i counter when i want. They always accept..i have no errors with them so they know they get what they pay for

I’ve work with Mortgage Connect a lot and so far I have never had a problem, super nice everytime I call them. With regard’s to scans backs send two separate scans. They pay pretty quick.

I’ve done one signing for them. They’re fees are ridiculous for the amount of work.

That’s why you counter the offers with acceptable fees.
