Just a question…Does anyone negotiate Mortgage Connect?
@varelawe24 Absolutely!
Negotiate each & every blast Signing Order proffered due to the abysmally LOW Fees . . .
Sometimes the counter-offer is Accepted - - - sometimes it’s NOT.
Have you been able to create your own tailored Schedule of Fees?
These calculations will guide you in the knowledge of the Fees you should be charging for the professional services you’re providing to clients based on your own expenses & out-of-pocket costs.

Yes, thank you for your response. A lot of the fees Ive received doesnt even cover the .66 per mile travel charge that the IRS suggests using. Oh wait a minute Im just seeing you noted it at .70 now…wow
Yes, I do. No matter who is calling, I counter/negotiate every offer which does not match my rate for the assignment.
@varelawe24 You’re Welcome!
.
Absolutely!
This is precisely why each business owner/entrepreneur needs to calculate their individualized Schedule of Fees to know these numbers.

Every offer. They start low. Someone is doing low but not me.
I have applied for mortgage connect so many times and I feel like i never hear from them is it because I am in Georgia . Should I contact them?
If you’re among the LSAs who jump in and then try to renegotiate the fee, you’re possibly hurting yourself. You’re not giving the “invisible hand” of the free market enough time to make its move.
The time to negotiate is not immediately after we’ve taken the order, but rather when Mortgage Connect calls us to find out why no one is taking their orders.
Mortgage Connect is in a powerful negotiating position because the orders they post get taken right away by eager LSAs. If no one is taking their orders, though, they’ll have to reach out to the LSAs themselves to get them fulfilled. This is where we’ll have the upper hand, so it’s important to understand how this works. Business is all about negotiation! Think about it, Mortgage Connect and other companies are negotiating, when they send out these texts or emails notifications. When we accept orders via these types of communications to get business, it limits our ability to get fair compensation.
Yes, my thoughts exactly!!
Yes I have been skipping over their offers because Ive only been assigned a coupled Ive negotiated so I can only assume people are taking the offers originally sent out…this is why I asked the question.
Just a quick note here - this is the amount IRS allows you to take as a deduction on your SE form on your tax return - it is NOT what the IRS suggests you use. What you charge for mileage is entirely up to you, following your state law regulations, if any.
I counteroffer every offer that I get from Mortgage Connect that I have any interest in. To date, they have never accepted any of my counteroffers. They also never call on the phone. It’s strictly text blasts. I have seen them repeat requests for an order, raising the rate in $5 increments until someone takes it.
@steves11 Your direct experience mirrors that of several Notary Cafe members who’ve shared the same information. Your experience is akin to most . . .
In my direct experience, there’s occasional negotiation usually ONLY on last-minute Signing Orders [SOs].
Most of the time though, the SO is Accepted at a very low fee as it ‘disappears’ from the Blast Text Messages at that point in time.
yes, I negotiate them, and a lot of other companies . MC usually comes with good fees in my area so its not an issue so much with them, but always negotiate a fair price no matter who it is , if they don’t choose you, its their loss, and not your financial loss.
Totally! Like, “You gotta spend money to make money.” I always counter-offer loan signing fees that wouldn’t be worth doing if the fees are so low. No way am I spending money to lose it – those low fees can definitely lead to that.
Negotiating with anyone depends largely on competion. If the competition accepts a low fee you are out of luck.
Someone in this area is racing to the bottom on all their offers. I counter what I’ve always countered but it’s gotten even tougher recently.
I do and they do accept some of my counteroffers.
Yes about a year ago they were good and accepted my offers but lately they don’t negotiate and I haven’t done a signing with them in a few months. Can’t afford to at 40.00 and drive an hour one way.
