So I finally bit the bullet and got my Signing Agent Certificate. Obviously this makes it to where I have few questions. I went through the NNA to start. I’m thinking about doing Notar2Pro next. (still waiting for my background check.)
So
How what do I update on my my Notary Cafe Profile now that I have passed the Exam
When you all first started did you go all out with a fancy printer. (times are tough I don’t wanna be spending rent money on a printer)
Can you give some tips for how to market yourself
I’m in Colorado if that helps with anyone’s tips. Thanks in advance
Also, REMEMBER that you can Search the treasure trove within the database of Notary Cafe to perform your own due diligence as a new Business Owner/Entrepreneur for the queries annotated above.
Most members express that they find it difficult/NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to locate the SearchFunction in order to access the wealth of information available within the database that has been generously contributed by your sagacious fellow business owners over the years . . .
To be helpful, I’ve inserted an image for you & others [see below] to help members locate it to unlock the wisdom & knowledge of other members on the forums.
SPECIAL NOTE:Accessing the database to locate information about potential clients has saved many of us an inordinate amount of time ‘chasing’ payments for Services professionally provided to potential non-payers . . .
It’s pretty slow right now & fees offered are extremely low and there’s a lot of hungry newbs out there. I would keep as much in my pocket as possible and see how it goes. Trust me, you’re not going to be printing 4 packages a day, and even an ol’ HP1020 will handle a print job–and you won’t be forced to pay for OEM cartridges like the new printers do. Don’t ‘pay to play’ anywhere.
Joe, do you know that less than 10% of signing agents are men? We’re as scarce as Republicans in West Hollywood. While you’re kicking that thought around, I’ll be happy to answer any of your questions off this forum.
My Xerox was only 400 bucks. 35 pages a minute. Cartridges are expensive I use about 1 every ten days. $133. But a slower printer would not work at all for me. Some lenders don’t send paperwork until a couple of hours before an appointment.
That’s just me. A printer doesn’t have to be fancy but it needs to be fast and have scanner capability. IMO.
