Hey guys, I’m just back from an amazing marketing conference this past weekend in Orlando that has really got me energized and I was looking at the NNA conference coming up May, 2026, which also happens to be in Orlando! My question is, has anyone here ever been and if so, what did you think for the money you spend? I’m really interested in going and to give me some further insight into my business. I want to leverage the types of conferences I’m going to because the last one did cost a pretty penny, and moreover, did not cover things I really thought should be covered in a typical convention, so for the money I spent, the time, I could have spent somewhere else and could have probably caught highlights on youtube. Any thoughts? Thanks un advance.
I think the price is outrageous I’ve never gone to an NNA conference. Haven’t lost business because of that near as I can tell.
Yeah…the prices for all of them are, but the information and the networking with others is what i really go for as yiu never know what you’re going to glean from them or who will be keynotes!
If it’s good for you that’s the important thing.
Have never attended an NNA Conference in the 19+ years of being a NSA and done just fine. I just visited their website. It tells me the Conference EARLY-BIRD registration fee is $750 (instead of $1000) for full conference. That does not include hotel accommodations. It does not tell me what the topics of discussion/presentation will be. It does not tell me what the itinerary is. It does not tell me who the speakers will be. It only tells me the above cost for attending which includes breakfasts and cocktail events.
Given that info, how do I know if attending will benefit me? If I wait to register ‘til later when all info is available, it may no longer be the early-bird price.
When I research the venue for hotel accommodations, that ‘site tells me there are no rooms available for 5/2-5/6/2026.
So, I just emailed NNA voicing my displeasure at these inconveniences and further informed them that if what they’re hawking is networking, I can join Meetup (or other networking groups) at a lot lower cost.
(Sorry. Had to vent at the NNA’s money-grabbing mechanisms targeting notaries. Their Conference is just one of several.) Figure this: $1000 for each notary attending plus another ~$1500 for each small booth from each vendor for the exhibition hall [i.e. signing service, title company, notary supplies, etc.] and larger booths generate a higher price.
Can I have an ‘Amen’? Need 20, so Amen, Amen, Amen!
lol $1,000, What about the people who do not eat breakfast or drink? lol that would be a waste of money! This is a hard pass! lol
Yes, I totally get it…that’s what I just experienced with the one I just went to, and they didn’t even feed you nor offer refunds or transfers if life happens and you are not able to attend! I was totally disappointed. I don’t think they consider any of this when the do these conferences, they just get the nicest hotel and bump up the prices and pray they break even or go over! OUTRAGEOUS!
Yeah, it might be for me as well. I’ll have to wait until after October for another event I’m attending to ensure it won’t conflict with the dates though and see if they can answer all the questions my dear friend noted above
AND … on top of the Conference registration fee, for those of us from out of state: add air fare, rental car or Uber/Lyft, hotel accommodations, meals (other than breakfasts). Going from California, that could run me an easy $3000 ($1000 for conference; $300 per night for hotel=$1200; $100 for Lyft; $100 for meals; $418 for round trip air fare on Southwest**; a few tips along the way).
AND … on top of laying out at least $3,000 from Saturday, May 2nd through Wednesday, May 6th (departure date), I would be missing out on any signings during those 4 days. Granted, some of those expenditures can be claimed on my taxes as a business expense. But …
Maybe I should be encouraging other notaries to go to the Conference. While they’re gone, there’ll be more work available for me!
I have been a member of NNA for 25 years. I have not attended any of their conferences. Just too expensive.
Response from NNA regarding my questions above:
Hello Yolanda
We are still finalizing the agenda we should have everything finalized end of year as we are still taking speaker submissions until end of October.
As for the hotel , there is plenty of rooms available. Once you register your confirmation email will contain the link to book through our discounted rate.
Please let me know if you have any other questions I will be happy to provide as much infomration has I can to help you make a decission on joining us this year.

At this point, I can’t see even one reason why attending such a conference and spending a significant amount of money to do so (admission price, plane fare, transportation, hotel, food) would be worth the investment. I know that people like to attend these events just to “get away,” and that’s fine if the money is not important to you (not to mention the money you’ll lose by not working during that time). But I believe that for most of us, the money could be better spent elsewhere.
Well, at least they replied, not ghosted you! I figured they were still finalizing. But also, I would think they put it out early like this as return folks want to book early if they like it. I’m still trying to see like you said who is speaking and what all I’ll be getting for this investment
