No cross outs, no initials

I’ve experienced lenders who say don’t cross out anything in the documents
without permission
but I recently had a signing where the lender did not want the borrower
to cross out or initial ANYTHING including their own dates.
This is frustrating because if the date looks questionable initials
help to validate the date but if no initials are allowed what can we do
I hope they don’t call me to say the dates are too messy…

I look at the documents with a critical eye because seems like others do, too. That’s why I like having a 2nd copy of documents I will pull a copy and have a signer re-sign if I think it can be rejected. And write overs, I look for those and replace.

I’ve never had anyone say you can’t fix ANYTHING. I include extensive notes when I complete a signing. Zero corrections? Did they include something that said “we’ll reduce fees” - some services are running a racket to avoid paying their notaries.

yeah that usually works unless the signers mess up both copies, doesn’t happen all the time
but it does happen. Maybe I should have them take a deep breath before the second try
