Hi guys! I finished all my NNA training, did the certification exam, got my background check done and returned to me, got my E&O.
I am signed up on the NNA’s signingagent.com and I got verified on SnapDocs but I haven’t gotten one email/text/call for a signing appointment. Am I doing something wrong?
The only thing I can think of, my E&O is the 25k minimum, do you get more jobs with a 100k E&O? I am not sure why I haven’t gotten any requests yet its been weeks.
Be patient. The market is kind of slow at the moment. While you are waiting, sign up with at least 100 different companies. Notary Stars has a list of companies you can look at. Just keep signing up. Advertise your business for general notary work. Get listed with Google. There’s a lot you can do while waiting. It’s your business, go after the work… don’t wait for it to come to you.
Hey Kayla,
Congrats and Welcome!
Like Jeff mentioned you want to sign up with a lot of signing services because that give you the best chance to get out there. I would recommend Snapdocs, Notary dash, signingorder, and signingtrac. Even though I do direct I still pick up assignments from these services. Hope that helps. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
You are doing everything right so far. I think having a complete profile on SigningAgent.com is a great first start. Your profile looks professional and should appeal to those who are looking for someone with real estate experience. It looks like you were just recently trained/certified earlier this month, so maybe give it a little more time.
It depends on the requirements of the hiring company, but 100k seems to be the recommended coverage for signing agents.
Hey there, I have been trying to get my first assignment for well over a month now so I understand. I am very concerned at this point. I have continued to contact the signing services that I’ve signed up with to make sure my profiles are visible and active and I check them daily. From what I’ve gathered you need to accept assignments to be ranked higher on these sites but I am not receiving any signing notifications, super frustrating. I am in Arizona and hope that it picks up ASAP. I still find it odd that I haven’t received even one notification.
Hey jreel,
Well in every location the market is different. I have heard about the rankings but I don’t think all of them work like that either. In my experience when I started I signed up with quite a few signing services, the ones that I still work with today are snapdocs, signingtrac, and signing order. I have worked with notarydash, executive, and jlowe. But I also started to building relationships with escrow officers and new construction companies just by having a conversation and seeing if I can fill a need.
Hey there, thank you for responding and for the insight. I have signed up with a bunch of platforms and will continue to sign up when I hear of new ones. However, I may need to expand my reach and begin reaching out to new construction companies and direct with escrow. I have been reading that it is more difficult for newer agents to get in direct. Are their any direct that you can or feel comfortable recommending?
All of them really. But every title company is different. What I would recommend you do is first you need to have 100k of E&O. Although there is a state minimum this is the amount that a lot of title companies require that you get. I highly recommend you get loan signing training if you havent already. Make a list of all the title companies in your area, then one by one call each office of that company and ask if they are working with mobile notaries and if they are how you can get on rotation. A lot of them have an application process so you might want to have your paperwork ready like your w9, copy of your DL, commission, bond, and E&O. That is literally how I started and I blew up from there.
Thank you so much. I have already been trained through the NNA and I have the book I’ve been studying among watching some YouTube videos. I am going to do exactly what you said and hopefully I experience the same success you have!
I didn’t do the NNA training myself but I would recommend getting the Sign & Thrive book from Bill Soroka, girl I feel that is the notary bible. I’ve been doing this for about 5 years now and I still got something out of it so check it out. If you ever have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out ok. Good luck on your journey.
I am going to buy that! I appreciate your support truly. I’ve made a list of the title companies and I’ve been calling all this morning. I’m hopeful something will pan out
