Notary’s Affidavit

This is a new document I’m starting to see. It’s a form notaries fill out to verify they notarized the documents in the package. Has any one seen these? Do I stamp it?

Since you can’t notarize your own signature, I would say no, do not stamp it. I know here in FL we cannot stamp anything if it’s not a notarial act

Probably not. Unless it’s signed by someone other than you and they are requiring you to notarize ‘not your’ signature.

You don’t stamp it. Several companies are using that now.

@carrieh0829 It’s simply a misnomer on the document title. This is a document that needs NO notarization.

Above is a screen shot is the Header on the form utilized by a few nationwide Title/Escrow Companies [T/ECs].

The form normally is only requesting that the Notary Public transcribe the data identified on the form from the satisfactory form(s) of identification on the top half of the form & only your contact information & other data for your business on the bottom half.

OBVIOUSLY a notary cannot notarize their own signature.

If you’re not notarizing the signers signature, I wouldn’t stamp it. I had something similar a while back and I notified them I would fill out the form but would not place my stamp on a dcoument that I am not notarizing.
