Good evening! Has anyone found it to be more effective if they’ve added a photo of themselves vs just a photo of their logo for any notary pages, such as Snapdocs or Proof? Does it really matter? I do not have any professional photos of myself and have not actually taken a photo of myself in at least 2 years.
If it would be more effective to add a photo of myself, are there any tips that you have (things or colors to shy away from, etc) that you wouldnt mind sharing with me? Would it be ok to just have one photo across all the platforms or should I have multiple?
I did not find this topic already, so please forgive me if I overlooked it.
Yes, it’s best to upload a picture of yourself. Don’t go all elaborate, just a selfie, get the kids to take it if you need, but something simple…and SMILE ;0)
This pic you are using is a nice one. A headshot is the way to go for your online notary profiles, not a business logo. It helps your customer know who to expect when you are coming to their door for a signing.
Thank you! I added this photo after the ladies mentioned that it could just be a quick selfie. I was hoping I wasn’t going to have to go spend money on professional photos… at least not for now anyway!
Well, there are two types of notary jobs out there: loan signers who don’t really need a picture because the signers usually don’t choose their notary and get the lowest bidder anyway, and notaries that pay for a website, SEO placement, Google ads, who actually get invited to people’s homes based on trustworthiness, professionalism, and appearance.
I work for at least two signing services that send a photo to the signer so they know what the notary looks like. But it’s from my profile at various websites.
Soon after, I accept an assignment, whether I’m being pimped out by a hiring party, or someone that is contacting me directly from my online presence, or even a referral, I immediately text them a link to my website that thoroughly introduces me to the client.
I think that is a great idea to send them information about yourself asap! I understand we need to ask some questions to make sure they have what we will need, but it’s so much more personable to give them something other than that.
