Poll on Business generated from NOTARYCAFE

Hello All,

Every notary listing service have different business model.

When I first signed up in notary cafe, I found their membership fees for notaries to be lowest vis-a-vis 123notary.com or other websites.

I paid for and tried to one year’s worth of premium membership.

I always ask a caller , " Where / How did you find me"

So after a few months of frustration, I searched for myself in my zip code. My name did not even popup.
WTF ?? So i tried to contact support and figure out what’s going on.

It felt I had flushed money down the toilet.

However The support folks were awesome & responsive and extended my premium membership for a few more months.

Still NO results. So I told them I am not sold on this.

I got only one signing for the entire 15 months of premium membership.

That got me thinking.

Now, How does a business or individual locate a notary on notarycafe.com ?
There are two ways, people can locate a notary on notary cafe

  • NotaryCafe.com: Search for a notary on the website. However, this search shows only premium members.
I searched myself on google and also on notary cafe.com
Google shows my listing in snapdocs only. My premium NotaryCafe listing did not show up in notarycafe.

  • Over the subscription based search , ( https://www.notarysoftware.com/ & https://secure.notarysoftware.net/secure/nsregister.asp ):
This is geared towards Signing ( not title) companies who pay a set up fee and a then monthly fee . that limits them for the number of notary requests. This type of service, provides access to all the notaires ( Premium and Non Premium hidden notaries) – I got zero enquiry from this source.

**Comparative notary listing services offer flat fee of just $2.50 per signing request **

SO I wonder , if

  1. Is Notary Cafe is even popular amongst title companies. Is the Very high cost of membership for title companies making them avoid it, when one can find for free notaries on 123notary. ( but notaries have to pay high fees for their premium listing,

  2. Why Title companies are NOT interested in directly dealing with notaries?

What are your thoughts? What is your experience ? Which State are you located in?
NotaryCafe however has the best forum format to discuss notary issues.

Okay…here goes - and my apologies to Notary Cafe Admin but it is what it is…

I am in Florida have a free listing (since no longer doing loan signings I feel no need for the added expense any more)

After reading this, just for giggles, I did a google search for “myself, Notary Public”…and for “my county, fl notary public” - I found many links to myself but, unfortunately, not one link to my profile on this site - found the others - the dot net, depot, numbers, etc etc - Notary Cafe never showed up on the first page of the google listings. Since SEO is so vital for this business, this is disturbing.

As for work from this site - back when I first started listing here - some 8-10 years ago? - I HAVE received work from the companies that use this platform (exactly how many I’m unsure of) - and many times when I would try to sign up with a company it acknowledged my profile here and my signup was done. I don’t know how many companies still use this platform any longer - with the advent of SnapDocs and other platforms I’m going to guess probably not very many any more (but I could be dead wrong on that).

That’s my experience here Notary Narayan - hope this helps you.

I was wondering the same thing abt the number site as I been considering a paid listing

Back when I listed on that site I bought my home county plus 2 or 3 others (it was a LOT cheaper 12 years ago) - I will say I got my best title company clients from that listing. Then he raised my yearly fee for my county and I just could not justify the expense any longer. I still get calls from people who say they found me there.

GTQ, if you’re who I think you are, your top listing is going to be very expensive there - IF you can get the top listing and it’s not already taken. I will also say that certain companies who provide nationwide mobile notary service go there and buy the top spots in many of the major cities/hubs in every state - thereby denying the notary the opportunity to be listing first in the notary listings. This is one policy of the site owner that I strongly disagree with.

Well I’ve been reading this forum section for some time now and just recently signed up on NotaryCafe.com, but not with the premium service. Last week, I had received an email request to notarize 2 signatures for a small payout (not a loan document package). I guess that this requesting company found me on here as a local to their client. Needless to state, I accepted. I have yet to receive loan document jobs from here and have yet to accept what SnapDocs had offered to me in the past. I’m fairly new to the Orange County, CA area and am glad that I was requested to do a Notary job out here (thanks to NotaryCafe), because I need to build my reputation out here!

Good Topic Narayn. In NYS. Two signings so far from Notary Cafe since I signed up as a premium member since February of this year. Basically paying for the yearly membership. I agree with you that this is one of the best and most educational of all forums.

I don’t recall being offered or receiving any notary jobs from Notary Cafe at all.

Before SnapDocs many signing companies used an online platform that connected directly to Notary Cafe, so when you signed up on Notary Cafe you were automatically in the database for every signing company that was connected to Notary Cafe. However, it appears that SnapDocs has taken a big chunk of that business away from Notary Cafe, I noticed that many of the signing companies that used to use the Notary Cafe platform are now using SnapDocs and that means fewer signing companies finding their notaries on Notary Cafe.
Notary Cafe is the only listing service I use but I honestly don’t expect to receive much business from it, I use it as a way to legitimize my business (I will give people and companies the direct link to my SnapDocs profile) and I love the Forum here on Notary Cafe.
