Seamless Signing Company

Has anyone had issues with payments from “Seamless Signing Company”?

Never heard of this co. Website only provides a phone # & e-mail. Looks like yet another “I’m not making it as a NSA, so I’ll start an SS”. In this case, I’d have to add ‘and make it impossible for the notary I didn’t pay to find me’. Which platform was your order scheduled thru?

@Arichter Concur with your assessment :100: percent :white_check_mark: on all of the points you delineated in your post, especially about 'chasing down payment’.

NOTE: Your assessment mirrors my Research expressed in a separate thread on the topic of this same business entity:

======

Some bit the line - 'hook, bait, & sinker" of the semantics written on a nominal website that referenced “a network.”

Concur with your assessment that:

So, the “network” they’ve referenced could simply be that they trot over to Notary Cafe & look up Profiles, etc. to tap their “network of signing agents.”

======

The majority of Notary Cafe members have repeatedly expressed that now is certainly NOT the time to take on unwarranted risks of nonpayment for professional services provided for loan signing orders.

Of course, it’s a completely different evaluation when contemplating General Notary Work [GNW] as one is paid at the time services are provided.

I’d rather err on the side of caution, than to encourage others to take the risk and subsequently see multiple threads created stating how this business is engaging in non-payment practices.

You know it was back in February and I have been reaching out since April being that their pay schedule was 45 days. It was just a print fee of $20, but it is the principal. I have been a SA since 2003 and I am really tired of the fact that we have no organization or association the regulate and protect us. Appraisals and Tile policies and fees have double, but Signing Serivces are still paying the lowest fees they can.

@cNsa5, there a few Title companies/Signing Services that do allow LSAs to have subcontracted LSAs. The downside of having subcontracted LSAs, the primary LSA take on the full responsibility of their subcontracted LSAs performance. So if any mistakes occur and if the subcontracted LSA is not will to make the second trip for correction, it falls on the primary LSA to do so. Another questions, do the primary LSA’s E&O policy cover the errors or omissions made by subcontracted LSAs? It seems to be a growing trend for some LSAs to sub out their signing orders and attempt to marketing themselves as new signing services. Also, I am seeing more LSAs marketing courses. This industry is not regulated against such practices…

@Amy_Boyd, I do agree with you that our industry needs some type of state regulation, regarding who can teach courses or becoming a signing services. Is for establishing an organization or another association that I am not so sure about. I work in the financial services for years, we are highly regulated by state and federal government. You may want to read " S.1561 - SECURE Notarization Act of 2025".

My thing is that we are Signing Agents with a Notary Commission ( needed in order to be a SA)
The Signing Services are as new a profession as the Agents( created during the first real estate boom in early 2000’s)
Title,escrow and lenders are all governed and overseen by Dept of Corporations (?).
No one oversees the Signing Services that sub contract the Signing Agent/Notary.
When I go out on a job I am walking people through their loan application ( no notarized documents included), HELOC, Seller and buyer pkg, building inspections etc. I’m contracted as a SA. We need regulations to protect us and our fees.

I took a signing from them and just hit my 45 day mark and no payment yet. I sent an email this morning and called this afternoon. No response. Did you ever see payment @Amy_Boyd?

No. And they posted a job yesterday. I don’t know how to stop these scam signing services other than posting on all the Notary networks that they don’t pay. We really need protection from this type of issue. In over 22 yrs of doing this business I have never seen anyone willing to step up for Signing Agents. I’m about to start speaking out.

I send an email that says sorry I seemed to have missed the payment for - x job - can you provide the date of pay?

I usually get an answer. It’s frustrating to have to ask, but we still should remain professional and calm. That’s what I think works best. I also keep copies of work orders. There is usually a contact phone number on the job orders we receive with orders. Call and ask. Not all services do this as a rule - everyone starts somewhere. I tend to be pretty forgiving when they respond.

I am very polite in asking on status of payment, but this company doesn’t respond. We need to post warnings on the Notary networks.
