@tawc As a professional signing agent [PSA] who has provided these services for nearly two decades, I regularly share on the Notary Cafe forum that it’s all about location, Location, LOCATION! Yes, just like in Real Estate . . .
Here are a few key points of unadulterated truth:
-
There are courses, seminars, mentorship services, and training programs that are omnipresent across the internet landscape => ALL of which promise an “easy-peasy $100K/year income . . .” however, the reality is starkly different from what is touted by those who are hawking their wares online & via social media. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true . . .
-
Those who launched the courses, seminars, mentorship services, and training programs have done so specifically because they were unable to make a living as a Professional Signing Agent [PSA]. They engage in explicitly deceptive marketing techniques.
-
Dog-eat-dog type of competition. How does one know that? Just look at how the Fees for the PSA services continue to plummet to the bottom. The Fees currently pushed by multiple Signing Services [SSs] WON’T cover the cost of GASOLINE to drive to the signing location, let alone all of the other out-of-pocket expenses, and the regular overhead expenses required to provide those services.
-
It’s definitively NOT a dramatic overstatement that saturated markets are driving down Fees.
-
Anyone new to this business sector (over the last 2 years or so) may jump in with BOTH FEET without performing due diligence only to realize they were sold the sizzle, but none of the steak . . .

I regularly share this post I created in February of 2023:
It will serve you well to read each thread I referenced within the above-cited post. You’ll gain A LOT of knowledge! Of particular interest & one worth reading more than once is this link within that post (see below):

I’ve long been an advocate to my fellow Notary Cafe members (AKA fellow Business Owners) to perform their own Research PRIOR to launching a business within this sector & to vet those who are offering “advice” or “mentoring” to determine their motives in doing so . . .
Now you can easily see the ulterior motives!
