Just wondering if any notaries have experience with either of these companies. I accepted an order from Sale Signings for an assignment competed on July 10, 2024. After 30 days I began emailing Sale Signings for payment and was told they had not yet been paid by the Title Company (Silk Title). Now it is 60 days from the signing and after emailing the SS again today I am told they still have no payment from title. I have drafted an email to the SS explaining that I did my job in a timely manner and expect payment in a timely manner, Sooo I am contemplating contacting Silk Title for information. Any thoughts???
I’ve done a few signings for Silk Title. Always late in uploading docs to the point where it just inconveniences the rest of the day. Not sure about their payments.
@bluesky8549 Did you see all these immediately available threads on Safe Signings?

No. I have not seen them. I had worked with them before with no problems
Hello - assuming you still have the docs downloaded - contact the title company and explain to them what Sale Signings advised you of. Ask title if they have paid Sale Signings if so, call Sale Signings back and tell them what title told you and demand payment
That is what I was thinking of doing, but don’t want to overstep anyone.
Avoid. One of worst ever to collect from. It took 2 years and a collection agency. The refused certified letters to their address and Registered Agent that they listed with their state. After my first job with them they were 5 months late paying and I unfortunately let them try a 2nd signing after they apologized and claimed that it was a fluke that I had not been paid. With the 2nd signing, they made excuses after excuses, then stopped responding to telephone calls, hanging up when they recognized my voice, stopped answering emails, and as I said, they even refused certified letters. The collection agency finally shook the payment out of them, but costed a continguency.
Avoid Sale Signings or avoid Silk Title? I didn’t choose the title company.
I also was hired by Sale Signings for a closing i did for them in early June. It too was for Silk Title.
When I inquired about payment in late August. this was their response
Hi Michael, sorry for the delayed response. We will send you payment once this Title client pays us for this period. It will be some time but we will send payment asap. Sorry for the inconvenience
It has been over 100 days since this closing, I have been patient enough and will be contacting Silk Title. Has anyone contacted them about payment issues?

That seems to be their MO. I will contact Silk Title directly with a phone call first. I will also send a letter to Sale Signings advising them of my intent to use a collection company for payment.
I contacted silk Title they were very helpful although it did take a couple of times to get to the right person. You have to contact the scheduling department. I did finally receive payment from them this week. They said I’m not the only NOTARY that has been stiffed by Sale Signings and they have dropped him from their list of signing companies.
I got the exact message. I did this singing 6 months ago and I am still not getting anywhere. I called Silk Tilte a month ago and they said I would be paid the following week. So I called back yesterday and the call was never picked up, like my call was being screened and ignored. Sale Signings was good to work for before Silk Title used them. Sale Signings should have been ready to pay the Notaries it used since they are the ones that hired us.
These packages are big I always add a print fee for Silk Title orders. 60 days is what I’ve seen from their terms. If you go to Silk Direct you may find you don’t get anymore orders from that SS. I will take their orders but I know it’s two months to get paid. So I don’t take a lot of them.
I just completed a signing with Silk Title. The package was 230 pages. There’s a lot of redundancy. For example, the 4506 C had 8 copies per signer, among other things. The client said they had completed the majority of these documents by e-sign and was wondering why they did this. They were not happy. They refinanced with them due to lower rates.
My appointment was at 11 am and the documents did not arrive until 9:30 am. This was after they said documents would be delivered by 8 pm the night before. Two different people from Silk sent that message. I now have trust issues with them.
I almost always ask for a bump for print fee. I just don’t take that many from Silk anymore.
I had done work for them over the last 10 to 12 years. I had worked directly for Silk title company. I had always gotten paid. If I remember, the packages weren’t small. I even helped them with the last-minute closing that was an hour prior to The signing. I haven’t heard from them in a long time.
If I can get paid within 60 days, I would probably still work with them. Just my two cents.
Rather interesting blurb I came across in a Google search for “Sale Signings and Silk Title Co”
That schedule is no guarantee of what a notary will get paid.
I agree with @johnsonps306 - that schedule only reflects what title and escrow may charge. That’s THEIR fee…notary and other ancillary fees not included.
