I received payment in full via VENMO. Interestingly, it was after I emailed the escrow officer and asked when the transaction closed and when was Successful Signings paid out. The escrow officer replied to me, someone else in her company and Successful Signings with the dates (back in July).
I guess contacting escrow is putting the heat on them. Eventually escrow will decide not to work with them any more. Congrats on getting what is yours!
I have the same issues with them . I have 4 unpaid invoices and the response to my request for payment is identical to what you received . I am not sure what kind of legal action I can take against them here is the state of California. When the business grew faster than they expected ,is a good sign of business doing well . The issue I think they spent the money on themselves without paying any attention to the notaries that did these jobs for them .
I am experiencing the same issues with Successful Signings. I currently have four unpaid invoices. Their responses to my payment requests are nearly identical to what you received. I have been dealing with this for months and am now considering what legal action I can take here in California.
What frustrates me most is the constant avoidance, conflicting statements, and what I believe are outright lies. I have repeatedly requested payment, only to receive responses that completely avoid addressing the four specific unpaid invoices. I even contacted the title companies, which resulted in Successful Signings making statements about me that I believe were false. Now they continue claiming I have been paid without providing any documentation proving those specific assignments were paid. Instead of taking responsibility, they continue deflecting, making excuses, and refusing to provide straightforward answers. I completed the work as agreed, and I expect to be paid for it.
I have also filed a wage complaint and a retaliation complaint regarding my experience with this company. I am considering additional legal action to recover what I am owed. I have also publicly documented my experience on Ripoff Report to warn other notaries about the payment issues, avoidance, and treatment I have encountered.
I understand you’re upset, canotaryjjr. I’ve read your post here and on Ripoff. You mention having filed a “wage complaint.” Please keep in mind that we are INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS. We are not employees. We do not work for wages. We do not have employee rights. We work for fees and our legal recourse is through the courts and/or collection agencies … or you can keep hounding them yourself.
I believe you’re in Sacramento. Successful Signings is in Roseville – approximately a 30-minute drive. Why not drive out to them and pay them a visit and make a pest of yourself? They’d probably pay you just to get rid of you.
Sorry you’re going through this. Please make it a point to vet your hiring parties PRIOR to working with them.
