Waffle house madness

Okay so I accept a signing and this particular signing services doesn’t list the signing location only the city and state. After receiving the confirmation email for later that day I noticed the signing location is at waffle house. So i personally hate signing at public locations that are small. So anyway I confirmed with the signer through text. At 3:17 I arrive at the waffle house for the 3:30 signing. IT WAS PACKED!! Nowhere to sit but on a stool so I go back outside to my car and text the sellers to let me know when they arrive. They text me after going inside and say they’re inside. I said come out because too many people its crowded. I wanted this to go without interruptions. The wife talking about her child under 1 years old and its hot. I’m like ma’am its only a few minutes he will be alright. He husband get his panties in a bunch long story short NEVER ACCEPT PUBLIC SIGNINGS WOW THEY WERE RUDE.

I don’t mind public signings…, I have had some pretty interesting signings that I can laugh about it in the end!! Makes for good laughs and good conversation pieces to my fellow Public Notary friends. If it was only a few minutes why didn’t you just go inside and go with that “no one can stop me” attitude and get the job done with a smile?? I can block out madness… mom of 4!!

I don’t think it was Covid that drove this decision; but I kind of agree - I’ve been in Waffle House before - it’s not exactly the most quiet place and not conducive to concentrating or privacy. But, if that’s what signers wanted, I’d have done it. JMO

that sounds intense.

Suggest an alternative location.

It’s the signers choice where the signing takes place not yours. Crowded or not I don’t understand they had a table why make them come out to car in heat maybe not the best situation but it could have been worse try going to a hoarders house no where to sit ac not working and the smell of garbage. I personally would rather meet in a public place the borrower signs faster then at they home I know there is a virus going on but by now everyone should know how to protect themselves.

Not sure who you’re addressing, but this is not necessary.

I think that was meant for me. And yes unnecessary

When you see that the signing location is in a restaurant or other highly public place, suggest meeting at a hotel lobby. I find that the tables are clean, and the atmosphere is more favorable for signings. Borrowers whom I have met at hotel lobbies expressed appreciation for suggesting an alternative to a restaurant. So far, they all said that they never thought of meeting at a hotel and that’s what they’ll choose the next time.

I accepted a Refi in Starbucks, everything went well, half crowded but everybody mind their own business!

I would have gone on in and done the signing. If its OK with them…respect their wishes its their closing. That’s my take on it.

Yes hotel lobbies and civic rooms, county public meeting rooms are all ok. Town hall community rooms also.

Again GreenHunter? Seriously? smh

I’m not exactly sure, but sometime I feel like she is targeting my post.

GreenHunter - calling people dumb is not right - and that’s twice in a week you’ve done it - and yes I read this forums a lot - I enjoy the comraderie (for the most part) and I like helping people;

People complain about the treatment they get in FB groups and other forums - I don’t want it to happen here. All I’m saying is refrain from insulting people, calling them dumb. Okay?

If everybody would conduct themselves as ladies & gentlemen, we wouldn’t have this waste of time. Let’s be "a step above’.
