Website Design Help

Good afternoon!

I am looking for someone with referrals to design and set up my website. Basically all I need is a landing page with nice looking photos, and a customized contact form that will come back to my email.

I already have a logo designed, and I know how I basically want the page to look with most of the text that I want.

If you have someone you would recommend, please let me know.

Thanks so much!

@jennifer2 Great question! :partying_face:

There’s some very helpful information immediately available found within the Notary Cafe database ( a GOLDMINE)!

Most members express that they find it difficult/NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to locate the Search Function in order to access the wealth of information available within the database.

To be helpful, I’ve inserted an image for you & others [see below] to help members locate it to unlock the wisdom & knowledge of other members on the forums.

I’ve performed a cursory Search on your behalf and here are a couple of threads:

A few things to consider before plunging in head-first ===>>>

I’d strongly suggest/recommend investigating a VistaPrint website prior to consulting with any individual website designers. Why? (one might ask)

Many of us have YEARS of experience with VistaPrint. They’re professional, reliable, trustworthy, reasonably-priced, etc.

Many years ago before I began designing & creating my own websites, I hired several website designers and found it quite challenging to interface with them for the following reasons:

  • Expensive
  • Everything is A LA CARTE - in other words, if you want to update a Fee or add a word (yes, just a single word): $75 minimum (and this was years ago)
  • Required full & sole access to the dashboard => this means YOU DON’T have access to your website for changes, updates, etc.
  • Unreliable working hours/access
  • Unprofessional

NOTE: If you do determine that you’d like to hire a website designer => please do your own DUE DILIGENCE prior to entering into a contractual agreement with them. Do internet searches, locate others who they’ve created websites for by searching the internet (not just from the references they provide . . .). Truly, it can become quite complicated very quickly when your business is on the proverbial line . . . :astonished:

======

Accessing the database to locate information about potential clients has saved many of us an inordinate amount of time ‘chasing’ payments for Services professionally provided to potential non-payers . . . :crown:

Thank you! It did.

I’ve already purchased the domain from google. Do you know if I use Vista Print to design the landing page, can I upload that to the domain?

That confuses me - like how I actually go live with it - if that makes sense.

@jennifer2 Yes, makes sense, but reach out to VistaPrint for the details! They’re SO helpful!

You might be better served hiring a web developer. I found that my Notary page brought in very little business. Some of our colleagues have had better results with their webpages. I’ve had better results marketing through Facebook, Nextdoor, Alignable, and Business/Professionally oriented Meet Up groups.

In my area the need for notary services are not in high demand. I later folded my NSA services into my Tax Practice, and now include it as a value added service.

Thank you! I just want someone who has been vetted already.

@jennifer2 Precisely❣️ Plus, when you’re interfacing with an organization that has been supporting the general public for years, they completely & totally understand and provide EXCELLENT Customer Services!

In my direct experience with VistaPrint, they’ve provided professional services at very reasonable prices for all of the following:

  • Business cards (multiple different micro businesses)
  • Flyers
  • Banners
  • Window Decals
  • Design/Creation of Logos
  • Brochures
  • Marketing Postcards
  • Pens
  • Bags

Jennifer, I am a notary and website designer. You can check out my designs here… www.thecreativeadvantage.co. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Wix is free. Here is my website www.weocnotary.com

Secure your your own website name and use porkbun.com to like the URL from Wix to your domain name. Easy-Pezy

I would recommend, whoever designs your site for you, try and use one of the web design sites. Squarespace is an excellent place, I use that for my personal portfolio site. But you should be able to access your sight and make small updates. That way you don’t have to wait for a designer to update an address or list of services.

I hired the company Thryv a few months ago and I have been very impressed with their services. They created a completely redesigned website for my company (https://www.bnsnotary.com if you want to see the final product).

The web developer will meet with you and spend some time getting to know you, your business, and your desired content on your webpage. Even after they complete your website, you have access to update it yourself through the Thryv dashboard and you have access to the Web Development Team if you prefer they make the changes for you or if there is something you’d like to modify, but cannot figure out yourself. Thryv has a lot of other very helpful tools that I use, as well.

If you’re interested, you can contact Ronald Thibodeaux at (713) 940-7009‬. He is my personal Thryv representative who is always available to answer any questions I may have and to attend all of the meetings I have scheduled with other Thryv staff, such as my client success manager.
