Loan Signing Agencies.
I think I’m missing a Large section of my understanding.
Does anyone know who regulates the Loan Signing Agencies system. (local, federal, state)
I really need to read the Regulatory standards, fee standards, independent contractor engagement sections and codes of conduct.
As a Notary, Signing service do not have a business without the NOTARY- Right?
Who wrote the ruling on the business practice? I just want to know how this systems reads. Knowledge is power and we work for this system, we need this part to have a full understanding.
To all Notaries your worthy and you what you do it matters.
Unfortunately…nobody. Same is true of the ‘how to’ courses offered. It’s still buyer (or notary) beware.
I just can’t believe you can start a company without oversight? You can’t sell candy without oversight. I’m going to google around. I only focus on my job as a Notary, we have a 500page book of codes and standards., how could it be that the system of signing services have none. I want to know all part of this system.
you may be right. I’ve called everyone. Maybe @lisa for C2c knows. She is always so helpful.
She’s “helpful” until the system gets regulated
I’m trying to stay positive with the agencies but as soon as I get a notification for a signing I’m responding literally within 5-10 seconds and it’s already assigned to someone else. I’m assuming my market it saturated
My issue is disclosures show notary fee as double, triple or even quadruple what we actually make and that puts additional expectations on us by the customers and is misleading the public about what we actually make.
But in the last email from them (C2C), she did not know the difference between “your” and “you’re”. Kind of shook my confidence as it was done several times in the same email!
No one regulates signing companies in California. I have not heard that any state has any oversight. SC’s are a convenience for title companies. They are regulated but some do not even report who they are using for the signing/notary service or what the fee is. The borrowers should know what they are paying for and exactly how much.
