Notaries beware! I worked for a company called ifieldservices.com in the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, area until March 2016 performing field inspections. I started having problems getting paid by the company in 2015 and up until February 2016. For the first half of 2015, I would not get paid within its allocated time period, and then, during the latter half of 2015 and beginning of 2016, it stopped paying me altogether. I would call to speak to someone, but was told either the manager was not in, not available, or that someone would call me back, which never happened. I was even directed to a website where the company’s notaries were supposed to log in the fill out a ticket to go to the company’s payroll department to get processed. Well, I did that several times and have not heard back from anyone to date. Ridiculously, the company continued to send me jobs during this timeframe. I eventually cut them loose.
They stiffed me for $170.00 - same MO. No response to emails or phone calls
Three words - “Small Claims Court” -
Especially for the OP - you can sue in your home county where you sustained the loss.
As for the second OP, I’m not sure where you’re located but check into your small claims regulations - and I would NOT let them get away with it.
My .02 FWIW
I did one job for them early this year when everything else was slow. It took them forever and lots of e-mails but they paid. It was just not enough money for me to bother doing the jobs anymore. Granted no notary work involved but still there is drive time, my time and gas involved. I think they paid like $20, which didn’t cover all that. I tried it once, that was enough.
