$175...Refi, no scan. Any takers?

Blasted before 6AM this morning by one of the better platforms. Still, never saw this fee as first offer in a long time. It’s at dinnertime today…12 hours notice. MY POINT IS A DECENT FEE CAN AND IS OFFERED, so please stop jumping on the low offers!

I didn’t take it because it’s too low for 2 hours & nearly 100 miles, BUT there are 1/2 dozen NSAs
within 15 miles of the location. Somebody will do OK today and I’m very happy to see a decent fee for a change. Just wanted to offer one reality to those who think it can’t be done and scramble for the $85 offer.

Absolutely too low for “2 hours U& nearly 100 miles!”

Makes me wonder if they already put it out there to NSAs that are closer and didn’t get any takers … (at a low fee)?? If that’s not the case, suspicious minds want to know: What’s the catch? :face_with_raised_eyebrow: Huge package with scan backs? Is the hiring entity a reliable (one that pays timely) company?

Arichter is absolutely right. It (professional fees) can be done!

As far as I know, this was the first offer to be blasted. Annoyingly, I always get offers that are up to 3 hours away, even tho’ there are a kazillion notaries between me and signing location. Also, annoying…no additional info provided by platform as to page count, Lender, # of signers.

Ooooo…it just popped in again. This time @ $200 (still too low for me). Guessing all those closer notaries are still sleeping. It’s 7:40 AM and blasts began before 6 AM. SEE WHAT IS POSSIBLE IF WE DON’T BITE ON LOWBALL?

@Arichter – Does that platform allow counter offers? If so, maybe you can try countering with your professional fee for that distance (and keeping in mind all other possible special requests, i.e. several signers, large package, scan backs, lodging, etc.).

Yes, can counter… but… Nah. Pass. Don’t wanna drive that much and it doesn’t fit day’s schedule. Guess I was just over-enthused to see a decent fee offered. Hasn’t come thru again, so somebody lucked out @ $200.

To ALL Notary Cafe members new to this business sector who want to see how to calculate what Arichter referred to that the Fee is “still too low for me” . . . please review the following.

When accepting a Signing Order [SO], for your own financial livelihood, you owe it to yourself to perform the due diligence of calculating the Costs of Providing Your Professional Services.

I got that fee recently first thing in the morning as well. From a title company that I have a high ranking with.

Maybe we’re special. And it was only us.

LOL. Never say never Missy.

Crazy day of (yesteryear/normal) now/high offers! 3 different jobs offering $200. Of course, all were still too low for the mileage/drive time needed. And all 3 were night signings on dark rural roads. No, no, no.

Aaaand yet another later offer jumped from $150 to $375.. Of course, it’s a 3 hr. drive and the scheduled time is 45 minutes after $375 offer. It got canceled and will probably start again early tomorrow at $85.
I hope this shows why to SAY NO TO LOW as they’ve proven they can do better–MUCH BETTER!

Refi’s in my area run about $80-$90 with an hour to an hour and a half of drive time. The highest I have seen was $100 in May. I did get a sellers today for $125 about 20 miles from my home. That is about $50 over the average for a sellers in my area.

I agree, but in East Tennessee that is the current rate. I haven’t done a refi in a month and I don’t mind. Those are usually page heavy and pay about the same as a sellers package, which is a lot less pages.
