Application with my state question

Hello everyone!
I just passed my exam today!
I’m filling out my application with the State of IL. I went on here to get advice about being a RON and which provider to use because my application asks which provider(s) I will be using. It seems kind of tricky because I can’t complete the application without it but I can’t get a provider without a commission number. I don’t know if I have to just apply as a traditional notary first, but the course I took included remote/electronic training. Is there a way around this?

@lktravis Interesting question! :tada: However, the Notary Cafe member base is unable to provide direct assistance as you haven’t identified the state that you are launching your business within . . .

What type of examination did you take?
Who did you take your examination with?

The entity that you took the examination with should be addressing all your queries in this regard . . .

APPLICATION QUESTION: Reach out directly to the entity that you’re applying to for specifics; presume it’s probably Secretary of State, but could be some other group due to the lack of information about your state. They’ll be able to accurately guide you.

REGARDING YOUR QUERY ABOUT RON PROVIDERS:
Excellent question! By any chance did you find the immediately available information found within the Notary Cafe database on this topic?

This information is a GOLDMINE!

Most members express that they find it difficult/NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to locate the Search Function in order to access the wealth of information available within the database.

To be helpful, I’ve inserted an image for you & others [see below] to help members locate it to unlock the wisdom & knowledge of other members on the forums.

I’ve performed a cursory Search on your behalf and the results show more than 50+ separate threads (in addition to yours) about this particular topic.

There is a plethora of data immediately available on the threads within Notary Cafe. :sparkles::tulip:

Accessing the database to locate information about potential clients has saved many of us an inordinate amount of time ‘chasing’ payments for Services professionally provided to potential non-payers . . . :crown:

IL here also. I think it’s 9 or 10 RON providers that you can use in Illinois. We ended up using Blue Notary and they walked my husband through signing up without having our actual commission number. Reach out to the provider that you think you want to use, and they should be able to walk you through it. Good luck! It’s a lot to learn the in’s and out’s of everything, but once it’s set, it’s a bit easier. A lot of trial and error since all of the states have little differences that make their laws unique.

Thank you! I looked at Blue Notary just because it was the only one located in IL and that seemed like it would be more convenient. I will contact them!
