I did a signing for Avanti late 2018. I was finally paid in Feb 2019 after numerous emails and getting the escrow company involved. They told Avanti to pay me and he did. I will not accept an assignment again unless paid via Deluxe Check or Pay Pal in advance.
If you say that, then you will never receive work again. Part of the game is taking a little risk. Been doing this 10 years, no one pays in advance

You misunderstood me or I did not make myself clear enough. My comment only applied to Avanti. It is not uncommon for me to wait 1,2,or 3 months for payment. I have no problem with that because I am receiving a continued flow of payments from all of my signings. However if after 3 months and I can not reach the SS and they will not call or respond then it is starting to become clear that just maybe they do not plan on paying at all. Then if they do they will have to pay in advance if they really want me. If not that is ok also. I do agree with you “almost” no one will pay in advance. I have been doing this for 16 years and have only been stiffed once.
