For those of you who have been scammed by Celtic (such as myself), I heard from The State of New Jersey - Department of Labor and Workforce Development. They have opened a case against Celtic. PLEASE PLEASE file a claim with them also. I have also notified the IRS that they are probably claiming payment to notaries that are not getting paid. I urge you to do the same. They are still out there hiring notaries and not paying them.
I have filed with the BBB of NJ as well against Celtic Signings. I have not heard anything back yet from them. I had spoken with Celtic Signings in January and was promised payment. The voice mail box is now full and you cannot even reach anybody now. I’m grateful I have only done one signing with them back in the beginning of Dec 2020. For other people just say NO TO CELTIC SIGNINGS!!!
I just got off the phone with Dennis McGrath from Celtic Signings…not impressed with him! I did a signing for them on 11/24/2020. After not receiving a prompt payment, I have since sent him 3 emails (2/8/21) (2/23/21) and (3/24/21) non of which I had any replies from. When I would call I would not even get an answering machine.
So today I called again, he did answer (very unprofessionally ) I explained that I had not been paid for this signing I did in Nov 2020, and that I had sent him 3 emails about it and all I got was “I will look into it”, then he says what else do you want me to do? To this my answer was PAY ME! Again he said what do you want me to do? I don’t think I will Hold my breath waiting for payment!!!
BBB is a WASTE OF TIME !! IS IS NOT A LEGAL ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITY .
They are just like google reviews. you either have a good or BAD review. BBB was those , when google/yelp reviews did not exist.

I just finished filing a claim with the NJ Division of wage and Hour Compliance. I contacted the lender Semper Home Loans (the lender) and Lima Law (the Escrow/Title Agency) very nice people and understanding btw) and they informed me that they have had so many complaints that they no-longer allow Celtic Signings to handle any of their business. Advice was to file a claim! Hopefully if there are enough filed he will be put out of business.
I have reported them to the New Jersey Wage people. They were useless, at least for me. BBB said they couldn’t help. The IRS, however, may be a little more interested. I am so disgusted. I’m also filing a small claims case here in California. Dennis McGrath can either fly his happy ass here or I’ll get a judgement which will allow me to file the judgement in New Jersey. Anything he does will alert everyone that I have a judgement and he has to pay.
For those who have not been paid from Celtic Signing, I have a hearing with the New Jersey Department of Workforce and Labor. It will be in June or July. I would like to have as many witnesses who are willing to show up via Virtual hearing. Anyone interested, please email me. I will have to get your names/numbers/email addresses to them before the hearing. I will contact you once the date is set. I would really appreciate anyone who can help. I’m tired of these scammers thinking they can get away with these things. Signings are my job and I don’t work for free, as I’m sure Celtic does not either.

After reviewing your complaint in our system, I would like to inform you that we do not have jurisdiction over your complaint for two reasons. You are located in the state of Washington and you have an Employer to Employer relationship. You should seek legal counsel and see if you could address this matter through small claims court. You can recoup your costs in small claims court if you prevail; check your state’s small claims regulations - you may or may not be able to bring suit where you are - make them respond - everything is internet and remote now so they can attend a hearing no problem. But if you prevail they can be made to pay for the costs of you filing suit.
Wish you luck - I, personally, would not let them off the hook - this is how these companies get away with treating notaries like this.
