Cloud Signings - Awful Company to Work With

Cloud Singings LLC is the absolute worst company to take signings from. When it comes time to pay they are constantly late on payments. Their payment terms are 60 days, it usually takes 120 days to receive payment from them. Then when you follow up with them on payment they don’t respond to you or if you do receive a response it’s very unprofessional. I will never do another signing for this company again. Beware!

They were offering a lot of signings in my area so I figured I would give it a shot and work with them. I learned the hard way how they operate.

Sadly, that’s how they stay in business. When you don’t get paid, chalk it up to an expensive learning experience. No, bug the heck out of 'em…10 times a day…you’ve got nothing to lose.

It really is sad, this is the first time I’ve had an issue with one of these signing companies. I agree nothing to lose, I follow up with them multiple times a day currently to get get payment for orders I completed in December/January.

My experience has been absolutely the opposite (three work orders done for them). Yes, the length of time they take to pay is ridiculous but they do pay exactly as stated - over the weekend following 60 Business Days past completion. And they’ve responded to every email I’ve sent as it took me a while to figure out their system. I’ve never done work for them less than $90 but I only do in-town jobs. To each his own!

If you filed your invoice in a timely manner, you should have received both payments. I just got my January work order paid today.

So…90 days to get paid. Wow. I can’t believe people actually agree to this type of arrangement.

We had a plumber out to our home yesterday…$375 on the spot. Wonder what they would have said if I told them I’d pay them in July for service today (I remind myself of Wimpy and the hamburger here)

But hey…if that’s how you want to run your business, so be it. Good luck

When you have the choice of getting business from locations 2 to 3 hours away or waiting 90 days to get paid - I’ll take the 90 days anytime. They are the only business I get that is in town versus “towns” of 2-3 houses 2-3 hours aways! So yes, I “actually agree to this type of arrangement”. New Mexico isn’t Florida! So your disrespectful comment isn’t appreciated!

That wasn’t disrespectful. That was someone not agreeing with you. I live in a part of the state where you drive forever to get anywhere. That’s just part of the gig. Many notaries will not wait 90 days. I don’t have other forms of income so that’s my decision. If you’re happy to allow companies to operate on your funds that’s your decision. I routinely drive four or more hours a day. I generally take assignments that pay in ten days or twice a month. I need the cash flow.

johnsonps306… Did you read the last sentence in that post? Snarky at best.

It’s an open forum, requires a thick skin sometimes.

Nothing was ever meant to be snarky or to insult anyone. I was just stating a fact. That is your business choice to run your business that way. Many of us, in fact many of us who have been around for a while, did not run our business that way.

It just amazes me what these companies are getting away with nowadays. I started here in 2006 and worked it for about 10 years, and I never had to wait 90 days to get paid I was paid in at most 30 days.

Yes you’re right New Mexico is not Florida. But in my area I can drive half an hour 45 minutes and still remain in my own county. So yeah I did a lot of driving but I did not do it for 75 to $90, and I did not wait 90 days to get paid. I’m sorry that’s just taking advantage of signing agents. That is the companies being underfunded.

Thanks for the response! What really annoys me is that, after 22 years as a Realtor, I know that those companies get paid by the Title Company in at the most 30 days so they are sitting on my $$$ earning interest for those additional 60 days! However, I also know that in my area, they only get paid $125-$150 for utilizing a Signing Agent so there isn’t a lot of profit for them to start with when they pay me $90!

And here’s my $0.02 FWIW on that.

My fee here for my county is $125 and I won’t drop it. It’s been like that since 2006. I had a company once tell me that they were only making 25 or $30 on the deal if they paid me that fee, and my response to that was simply this. “I’m sorry to hear that but my bottom line cannot be impacted by your lack of negotiating skills.”

And like you said, you know they get paid within 30 days from the title company. You know they should have the money. So you know that they are using your money and your fee to pay someone else. They’re underfunded. Keep in mind too a lot of these companies that are out there now are people who came into this business during covid, couldn’t make a go of it as a notary signing agent, and started their own signing service. Make a phone call earn $30 $35 $40 whatever

It’s so different now since when I was doing it and I’m glad I’m out but I keep up with things and I’m glad for all my friends here. I enjoy the back and forth the differences of opinion and the debates.

Someone mentioned (post deleted) that I was an “advocate” for Cloud Signings. No Way! Their disrespect for us and our profession is horrible. BUT too many complain about CS’s payment program without understanding the subtleties and that’s all I’ve posted to point out.

For instance, someone is (justifiably) upset because he hasn’t gotten paid yet for a 2 month ago job. CD pays in 60 days but if you read the terms, it is 60 BUSINESS days which is usually about 90 days. And that’s only if you submitted an invoice! I

Is that a fair practice? Heck no! But if you accept a job from them, you accept those terms. Period!
