Coast 2 Coast Signing Paperwork

Honestly I have learned where the spot is to get assignments. And this isn’t a hobby. I have done 33 this month. Still time to do a few more. It’s insane competitive. My fees have gone up steadily. But I have a pretty good idea about my market. Winter brings higher fees for these rural long drives.

I have done one signing Sep 25, haven’t been paid for it yet, its only $50. Had 1 response to my payment inquiry back on Oct 28 saying payment was going out this Friday (which would have been Oct 31). Still as of Nov 17, haven’t received payment yet. Last reply was they were escalating the issue to management, nothing since then. Not like this is a lot of money. but they do low ball compared to what the settlement statement shows going to Coas2Coast. Still working on that payment.

I would “escalate” to management..the Title Company first.

Well, I discussed the Coast2Coast situation with one of the attorney’s I work directly with and then one of the Title companies I work with. They are both going to do some research and get back to me. Attorney’s office did state that this was an indirect misrepresentation of the Prepaid Fees the client has rolled into their mortgage, but it’s not detailed on the CD. (that’s us letting the irresponsible signing companies get over on us!) Client is not responsible BUT the AG and the Title would probably love to know about the situation as this could clearly muddy the waters for them. I did not call the Title company involved with Coast2Coast but one I work with often and they stated this was need to know information. I totally believe that these types of “middleman” outfits need to go away. They are counterproductive to what the legitimate agencies do.

I am going to call First American Title the first of the week. I do hope they troll the ‘Cafe…it’s time to put a stop to this. I remain unpaid from Sept 19th, and they are the only company that owe money outside of November. Ridiculous! That mortgage closed probably within 2 weeks of the signing!

I agree with you. It’s totally ridiculous to wait that long. I’m sure they don’t wait that long to be paid.

I have an update as of today. They use SnapDocs so I went on there and asked about a nonpayment. They told me the same thing the attorney and other title company said. I sent them a message on the actual order giving them until the end of today (12/2) to respond or I would contact title tomorrow. I almost immediately received a response and had the check this evening. I hated to be like that but they did deserve it.

Good work! :raising_hands:. Now you have the process and others can see the process in which to try to get their payment if the signing company chooses to drop the ball on paying you in a timely fashion.

I hope it’s useful! It’s a shame some companies have no respect.

Thank you! Appreciated the info!
