Coast to coast

Any recent advice regarding working with coast to coast signing??

@lindaa Excellent question. :partying_face: Most of the recent activity is regarding non-payment or other difficulties with them. I have no recent personal experience, due to their overall drop in fees a few years ago . . .

There are more than 50+ separate threads on the topic of this business entity;

Hi Linda ~ my advice is run away

Thank you Alice. I have done many signings for coast to coast in the past, like a couple years ago. Never had a problem. But it certainly looks like things have changed. I’ve noticed that with several of the signing companies! I only do work for a handful of companies now. I am hopeful for a brighter future in our line of work. The interest rates will have to drop for us to see more activity! And I will NEVER accept some of these ridiculous low ball offers!

I have done several signings for them in the past eight months been paid for all of them. Send them an invoice.

Run as fast as you can. If you want to make peanuts, go head.

Thank you for your response! I have never ever made peanuts on a signing! I will not accept ridiculous low ball offers. And I believe it hurts all of us when extremely low notary fees are accepted…

My advice on C2C is this: DON’T!

STAY AWAY!!. Done 5 assignments for them from Nov 2023 - Jan 2024 just received payment in May 2024 after sending 3 non payment emails and the last one I had to say that I was going to reach out to the signer to get their direct contact personal information and reachout to title regarding payment that’s when I finally received response saying that I should receive payment in 48 hrs.

Thank you. I will stay away. It’s sad because it did not use to be this way. I would do a couple of signings a week and always got paid!

I have done 9 signings for them got paid on all them. If you do a signing send them an invoice.

I am experiencing the same issues with a couple unpaid invoices over 60 days. I’ve confirmed delivery and monitored. They stated they would have their accounting/billing look into the matter and nothing. The concern is that documents cannot be processed unless notarized, so I feel this is an example of poor business practices. If anyone has a direct line to them please supply it. I foresee issues like the rest in the matter.

Hi, I had stopped working with Coast2Coast Signing when they started low balling, but this past January and again in February 2024 they asked if I could do a Cash Out Closing and they accepted my fee which did surprise, but I used to do a lot of signings for them without incident. Well! The January job paid me last May 2024, and the February job paid me in June, just a few days ago. So, their pay is 4 months. I’m now thinking they are having a hard time finding Notaries that will work for them. I have added them to my “DO NOT ACCEPT SIGNING FROM LIST” which is getting pretty long these days.
Also, DO NOT ACCEPT ANY JOBS FROM Prestige Notary Inc. I did a job for them last November they too called me and accepted my fee. I just got paid yesterday, and they didn’t even pay me the agreed upon price they lowered it, and that is after they praised me for what a great job I did for them when it was completed.
I too only work for a handful of signing & Title companies these days.

I have a thought I would like to share.
I used QuickBooks accounting software for years because I do so many different types of jobs, but since things have slowed way down for me I have switched to Notary Gadget. I really like the way it separates the mileage and expenses and then breaks them down per signing job. That got me thinking. I don’t know what these new Notaries that are accepting low balls and ruining it for the ones that have been doing this for years and its their main income. If they used Notary Gadget it my help them realize they are not making any money accepting lowballs and that they are actually working in the red. I’m a visual person so, Notary Gadget helps me see that I need to charge a certain amount for each signing type or I’m not making any money. Now! I know there is more to each jobs breakdown of fees that needs to be deducted, and It doesn’t breakdown the vehicle maintenance, printer, supplies, insurance, vehicle and E & O, yearly background checks, and CE training, time spent at each job. I know there is more just went blank. :slight_smile: The few Notary Gadget does deduct for though really makes you realize how little if any you make for each job. Thank you for listening/reading :slight_smile:

I did a signing for Coast2Coast in January and still have not been paid. My suggestion, Don’t take any signings from this company!

UPDATE: They paid me with e-check and another with a printed check. I will have to consider if I will do future signings with them.

It’s understandable since you’ve received remuneration for the professional services you successfully provided; however, this is precisely how the “cycle” continues . . .

NON-PAYMENT for more than 60 days (per your previous post) truly is UNACCEPTABLE.

Hopefully, you’ll give serious thought to the situation that this non-payment scenario placed you into for over 60 days.

======

In case you’re wondering if this NON-PAYMENT choice by this business entity is of EPIC PROPORTIONS (or not), here are FOUR separate searches under the various monikers utilized for this business entity.

EACH Notary Cafe Search resulted in over 50+ threads in each search . . . Of course, there could be some redundancy possible, but this is truly of epic proportions for this many NON-PAYMENT threads for one business entity.

Here are the Search results:

  • Most Title/Escrow Companies [T/ECs] pay in less than 1 week.
  • Most Signing Services [SSs] pay within 1-2 weeks (or possibly 3 at the extreme).

Know your WORTH. Base your business decisions upon that knowledge and the direct experiences you’ve encountered as well as experienced vicariously though those Notary Cafe members who’ve shared their direct experiences. Thank You

Once very late out of two signings was enough for me.
