Coast2Coast Payment Issues Updates

Continuing the discussion from Coast to coast:

I just received the following email from Coast2Coast today. I recently invoiced them directly for a signing in May, assigned through Snapdocs, when it got past 45 days. Wonder if that generated the email. But glad they did, because I will be sure to take a pass on any offers from them in the future.

"To our Esteemed Notary Partners, your role is crucial to us.

We are writing to inform you of the delay in issuing the notary payments. Earlier this year, we switched accounting systems, changing how we process notary bills. Recently, due to a system shutdown, we had to manually enter and send notary bills, causing a delay in our payment issuing. We are issuing notary bills for May 2024 and plan to begin making payments for June invoices within a few weeks.

We are working diligently to have our automated systems recovered by the end of August to eliminate our delay in issuing payments. We are also excited to introduce the option of receiving your notary payments via ACH, which will streamline the payment process and provide more flexibility. Stay tuned for the launch date for this option.

We understand how challenging these times are for industry professionals, and this technical issue adds to your stress. We value our partnership and will continue to provide transparency as we work diligently to resolve the delay. We apologize for the delayed response from our accounting department, as our staff is working overtime to send individual updates. We promise to work to get all overdue payments to our notary vendors up to date, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.

With thanks,

Coast2Coast Signings Inc. AKA C2C

I do not recommend working with them at all. They don’t pay the agreed fee and it takes forever to receive payment. They are always offering $20 document signings. You would end up paying out of pocket to take their signings.
Just my opinion, but stay far away from them

I say, let them choke on their own money. It is unfathomable to me that this outfit has stayed in business all these years. They are bottom of the barrel of signing service companies, separating notaries from their hard-earned fees. Check out Deadbeat Signing Services on FB.

I got the same notice, and they owe me for a signing from June 3rd.

Back in the day coast to coast paid on time. After reading the negative comments regarding them on notary cafe I declined job offers from them. It’s not just their payments being slow, it seemed that their whole structure was array! No thanks

Yes, there are so very many threads on the topic of this business entity & NON-PAYMENT for professional services successfully provided by quite a few Notary Cafe members.

It’s quite helpful to all members that they’ve shared their direct experience with this NON-PAYING (or dramatically DELAYED paying) business entity to ensure members are cognizant of the current techniques employed by the business entity. So, a BIG THANK YOU goes out to each of those Notary Cafe members.

In addition, I’ve inserted several threads that display LISTINGS of the PAGES of ALERTS/WARNINGS, etc. regarding NON-PAYMENT by this business entity:

The following are a few general insights regarding the management of your Accounts Receivable transactions. These are not necessarily in order of priority . . .

  • ALWAYS submit an invoice directly to your client; that is, unless they’ve specifically identified that one isn’t necessary.

Of course, you’ll want to follow that account across the ‘maiden voyage’ to ensure that business entity DOES pay without receiving an invoice directly from you. After that confirmation of successful payment, continue to monitor receipt of payments.

  • DO keep an abbreviated payment turnaround interval.

A reasonable payment timeframe with a Title/Escrow Company [T/EC], Attorney, etc. is 5 to 7 calendar days.

For Signing Services [SSs], 7 to 21 calendar days.

Anything longer than those intervals is considered an EXTENDED interval for payment.

  • Trust (but verify).

Always vet a client PRIOR to the initial transaction. Ask “What is your payment interval?”

Be certain that you confirm the interval is in calendar days or business days as there’s a LARGE difference between the two . . .

Accept the Signing Order [SO] if it meets your criteria and add the caveat that you’ll be researching their business regarding payment history & may need to return the SO to them if there are concerns.

  • Remember to always keep notes about the payment interval agreement.
  • If you have a NEW client with one outstanding invoice, hesitate on accepting additional SOs until payment is made.

Why? Often, business entities that have a “sketchy” history of paying Professional Signing Agents [PSAs], they’ll often schedule MULTIPLE SOs close together with you. Before you know it, you have a NEW client with 5 or 6 outstanding invoices! Non-payment could result in financial difficulties . . .

  • Be Professional.
  • Remain calm.
  • Don’t respond to ad hominem attacks (nor reciprocate).
  • Take legal action when all else fails . . .

I wouldn’t hold my breath on receiving payment! Basically CTC is stating work done in April or May will.be paid for in August! Don’t accept any assignments from them . I use to do a couple assignments a week for them. They paid on time. Things have changed indeed! The economy is difficult and the Feds raised interest rates numerous times! Hopefully the industry will improve!

Hello, I also received an email from CTC regarding missing payments. I believe it is a good sign that they are working on the “glitch” and will have payments sent out soon. Not quick enough for my taste though. I should not have to chase money owed to me.
They offer lower fees for signings. I have accepted a few close to my house to fill my day. however, after reading these reviews and the hold on my money for more than 60+ days, I’m not sure if I will continue to work with them.
