Companies With No Reputation - Do you Take The Job? Sometimes absolutely

I was contacted last week by a Title Company out of Salt Lake City UT who reached me directly for a signing in my area. Steed Title Insurance Company.

No forum had any info, not a lot of information online. Website pretty basic, but she called direct, gave me the fee I asked for and said they pay after funding.

Sometimes as new notaries you might hear that companies are risky under circumstances such as - new, no feedback available, basic website. You might hear oh red flags.

This company I signed for on June 24, the check arrived today. As promised. They found me on USA Signing Agent. I went ahead and paid for a listing at that site thinking if I don’t get any orders I’ll get a refund.

The signing was smooth. Any questions answered at once, just an easy peasy job that went perfectly.

Don’t let anyone scare you away from taking a job. Sometimes a leap of faith is required and it’s not always gloom or doom. Just wanted to throw that out there.

Steed Title is A-1. Very good company to work with.

Title companies (direct business) are what we all want. They’re always good. It’s the plethora of new SS (and a few old known no-payers) that you have to be concerned about.

I take signings from companies not in my current history. Take a few minutes to check out company online. If they look sketchy, can always decline assignment.

I’m one that would also give them a chance unless I could see a reason not to. Same as we wanted a company to take a chance on us when we were new kids on the block, they deserve a chance also.
