Documents correction

Are we required to initial if we cross out the county or state on the document we are notarized. Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

Strike through once.

You own the notary instrument/document, you can make corrections…draw one line to strike through the mistake.

Yes! I have crossed out COUNTY where many times the lender has put the wrong one… I correct and initial.

Yes, always initial a modification (change) to a certificate. Also, this rule applies to the signer when correcting mistakes within a document.
