Does Anyone Do Immigration Forms

Hello,
I’m in Georgia, I still haven’t started yet but, I am getting ready to start soon. I wanted to know more about Immigration Forms. Is this a lucrative part of the signing agent job, regardless of state or is this a good add on such as the I-9 Documentation Form for work?

First, Immigration forms are DEFINITELY NOT part of being a SA. And it’s nothing like I-9s.
I strongly urge you to do some independent research on this field before you attempt to climb onboard.

Those Bozos in the California Secretary of State’s office have decided that I-9s are immigration forms and won’t let their notaries do them. Fortunately I live on the other side of the country and don’t have to pay any attention to Alex Padilla and his minions. I do I-9s when the pay offered is fair.

I would never do an immigration form. By federal regulations, a person who is getting paid to do anything at all with an immigration form is severely limited unless the person is a lawyer or an accredited representative. To be an accredited representative you have to be affiliated with a non-profit organization and be supervised by a lawyer; that isn’t anything like what outfits like the NNA are promoting.

Assuming your not a lawyer or accredited representative, all you can do is translate questions on the form into the language of the person who will be signing the form, listen to their answers, translate the answers into English, and write down the answers. I don’t speak anything but English, and if the person speaks English, they shouldn’t need me. Even if I spoke another language, in my mind the line between translating and helping the applicant decide what to say is way too fuzzy.

If you make any mistakes the applicant could be banned from coming to the US, or if already here, be deported. I want nothing to do with it.
