Electronic notarization in NC

Hi. I completed eNotary training and obtained my NC eNotary certificate a couple of years ago.

Now, I’m hoping to become approved by Amrock for their hybrid and electronic signings. Could someone please advise me if I should get a sig pad to attach to my laptop or should I use an iPad? My iPad is small, so I imagine I’d need a larger one.

Also, I’m waiting for my electronic seal from NNA. Is that necessary? Do I also need an electronic notary certificate other than the paper one issued by NC?

Hello. I am an e-notary in NC as well. Besides your paper certificate, you need to set up electronic notarization with one of the service providers approved by NC Secretary of State. They provide a list here

You may only use providers on that list. Simplifile is not yet quite set up for e-notaries (I am waiting for a reply from their rep), I signed up with DocuSign, but have not done any signings with them yet. Hope that helps.
