Getting paid for your General Notary Service

How do most people get paid nowadays for their General Notary Work? Is it mostly by check, credit card, cash or other payment forms? The last posting I saw was back in 2019.

Do you ask to get paid first or after?

Newbie and thank you in advance

Always got paid on the date of service with either cash or a check from the hiring party. Be sure to discuss it when you agree to the meeting. If you don’t want a personal check discuss alternate methods Cash App Venmo etc.

Payment at time of service, at the end of the signing. Venmo is becoming much more popular; it’s very easy, and there is no fee. My younger clients (under 40) often ask for it and prefer it. I use Square for credit cards, but I push Venmo to save the fee.

I prefer Venmo because it is immediate and there is no service fee. I use square for debit/credit cards, but I pass the associated fees on to the client, which I inform them about before any transactions. Cash is always good, and the back of my business card is a receipt which I complete and give to them at the conclusion of service. Not many people use checks anymore. But I will take them when offered.

I always get paid the day of service, unless I am doing an assignment through a Signing Service. I do a lot of GNW, and trust signings. I have accepted checks, cash, Venmo, Square. Probably would say checks and Venmo are most common.

Payment is always at time of service or on proof of completion, no shipping anything till payment is received. (some request my service from afar) Cash is my preference if possible though I’m flexible. I have Venmo, Cashapp and Zelle. I only take checks if I am meeting you at your residence. I will not chase money taking a check in a public place and never seeing that person again.

Individuals pay by cash, check, or credit card (zette cc reader). Businesses I email an invoice; they can pay with a digital link to PayPal.

To the beautiful people who took time to answer my query, many thank yous
